Old Moore’s Almanac has been making predictions since 1764 and the publishers claim that last year’s almanac correctly predicted a “submarine drama” for 2023 as well as the Ohio rail crash.

The annual almanac lists sets of current information, like weather forecasts and tide tables and eerie predictions for the future, with many prophecies seeming to come true. Old Moore’s Almanac is 260 years old in 2024, with some of its earliest copies residing in Trinity College Dublin.

Old Moore’s in-house psychic shares his predictions for the year annually. The almanac has reportedly been responsible for predicting several major world events from the coronavirus pandemic, a global recession and Donald Trump losing the White House.

The book is famous for its future-seeing, with the publishers claiming: “These predictions have been getting great domestic and international news coverage for their accuracy. For example, before it happened, Old Moore said that Kate Middleton already had a baby on board (before it was announced) and that the baby’s name would be Charlotte.

“In previous years, Old Moore predicted that Kanye would have mental health problems and that Trump would run for president again. He also predicted the rise of Bitcoin over 10 years ago. And of course, he predicted the pandemic, a year before it happened."

The almanac also says Old Moore predicted there would be “aliens for real” in 2023, which did see a furore in the American government, when David Grusch, a member of a Pentagon office testified there was a covert government programme to recover crashed alien spacecraft.

But what can we look forward to in 2024? Well Old Moore is playing it close to the chest until the new almanac is released but the publishers have let a few key predictions be known. “Old Moore’s Almanac predictions for 2024 include an assassination warning for Trump, the end of cash, the end of roads, and a massive earthquake that extends across multiple borders,” they said.

The history of the unusual book, which collects interesting information, tidbits and predictions for the coming year dates back to 1764, with the publication of an almanac called The Irish Merlin. The tome was published by Theophilus Moore, who “had a great reputation for his skill in prophecy” and was known henceforth to generations of Irish people as Old Moore.

The almanac grew in fame until Moore’s death at the age of nearly 80. It continued to be published every year under the name Moore’s Almanack, but its editorship is unknown for periods of its existence, although the current publisher says the almanac’s predictions are always “compiled by someone who was skilled in the art”.
