Carragher slams Chelsea over Liverpool target as Klopp chases Fulham star
Liverpool could go into their clash with Newcastle on Monday top of the Premier League but Jurgen Klopp isn't satisfied with the state of his squad.
With both Andy Robertson and Konstantinos Tsimikas ruled out for January, the manager is in the market for a short-term solution at left back. The imminent departures of Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo to the AFCON and Asian Cup will presents the German boss with another headache.
The Reds will take a three-week break from league action after the Newcastle match, but that doesn't mean they'll ample time to get business done. A huge FA Cup tie at Arsenal awaits them on January 7, before the home leg of their League Cup tie with Fulham.

Carragher slams Chelsea owner
Jamie Carragher has savaged the "mess" made by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly as a Liverpool transfer target heads for the exit door in January.

It's been widely reported that Tottenham are now leading the race and are in talks over a potential transfer, with Ange Postecoglou having tracked the England international ever since he arrived in north London in the summer.
"Gallagher has been Chelsea’s best player this season along with Cole Palmer, this just shows what a mess the new ownership have made at the club," wrote Carragher on social media. "Selling an academy player because it helps with FFP."

Fulham full-back lined up
Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Fulham over the possibility of signing USMNT defender Antonee Robinson in January.
With Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson both set to miss the start of 2024 with injury, Jurgen Klopp’s has no natural left-backs at his disposal. Joe Gomez filled in there during the 2-0 win over Burnley on Boxing Day.
The former Everton and Wigan player, 26, joined Fulham in the summer of 2020. He's since made 128 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three times - and is said to be open to a move to Anfield.
Reds could be boosted by Solanke
Dominic Solanke has 12 Premier League goals this season and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, a big money move from Bournemouth will actually benefit Liverpool. As will as the £19million fee the Cherries paid back in 2019, sporting director Michael Edwards negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause.
It means that should the 26-year-old earn a big move, the Reds will potentially net millions. Solanke only managed 27 appearances in all competitions for the Merseyside club, scoring just once.
