McDonald's customer launches 'unacceptable' attack on worker over apple pie

McDonald’s has said it's offering support to staff at a restaurant after an “unacceptable” incident involving an apple pie.

A man can be seen shouting at a member of staff at the drive-thru area of a McDonald’s restaurant in Runcorn, near Liverpool, in a video on social media.

The clip, shared to social media platform TikTok, shows a man in a white car abusing the staff member over wait times and an apple pie. "I've been in the queue for about 20 minutes, pass me f*****g apple pie,” he shouts in the recording - which has had over half a million views.

The worker responded by asking the driver "Why are you being like that?", before telling him she would not give him the apple pie. The man responded by shouting "I've paid for it girl, get your f*****g manager".

The woman working at the window responds by asking the man "who do you think you are?". The incident is believed to have happened on Wednesday, December 27.

McDonald's has confirmed to the Liverpool Echo that it's aware of the footage circulating on social media and branded the behaviour of the customer as "unacceptable".

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “It is unacceptable to see a customer behaving in this way. There is no room for abuse of any kind in our restaurants. The restaurant management team are checking with the employee involved to ensure they are offered any support needed”.
