Inside Daniel Radcliffe's millions after cleverly investing Harry Potter fortune

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has doubled his fortune to £16million after company records have revealed that he has property worth more than £3.3million.

Now 34, Daniel has become a well known name across the world after starring in the films as the young wizard Harry Potter in 2001. According to company filings, the actor's finances show that he had £8,832,790 in his bank account last year, before his fortune literally doubled to an eye-watering £16,085,209 this year.

Under the name of Gilmore Jacobs, which is the firm run by the film and theatre actor and his parents, it earns a healthy income from well placed investments, including a property portfolio worth nearly £3.4million. Last year, the firm earned £20,000 a day and last year paid corporation tax of £456,00, which means the profit was an estimated £2 million.

However, according to reports, this does little to reflect Daniel's vast assets. Since being cast as the lead actor in the popular franchise, he earned a fortune of £89.7 million. But his fortune fell victim to the fluctuation of the global market, as in March this year, his fortune dropped by £2.5million from £91.5 million to £89.1million.

The accounts were signed off by his parents Marcia and Alan who have been overseeing Daniel's money since he received his first fee of £800,000 from Harry Potter. Daniel owns two properties, one in west London and another in New York. In the last two films of the franchise, he earned £40 million.

Speculation has been rife that he is set to take over from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the Marvel series due to his sculpted physique - but as yet nothing has been confirmed. Back in November, Daniel Radcliffe was left upset when discussing a tragic accident that left his pal and stunt double, David Holmes paralysed.

The life-changing injury occurred during the filming of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1. David, who was a former gymnast, is now the focus of a documentary titled David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived. Daniel remembers David as being the one to do "the most dangerous physical stuff" on the set of the Harry Potter films.

The two formed an incredibly close bond and Daniel in the trailer for the documentary, opens up about the tragic accident. Daniel tearfully said: "It is unfair, he shouldn't have had to do any of that." He added: "This terrible thing happened to Dave, but I don't want to talk as if his life is a tragedy. The way his life has affected the lives of people around him means that it is the furthest thing from that imaginable."

While rehearsing a scene at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden in 2009, David was pulled backwards by a high-strength wire in what's known as a "jerk back" stunt. This replicates the aftermath of an explosion. But sadly David was thrown into a wall and instantly broke his neck.
