Coronation Street viewers can expect plenty of drama next week on the ITV soap.

There's chaos ahead, as three characters make big comebacks to the show, resulting in bombshells, twists and danger for some. Lucy Fallon reprises her role as Bethany Platt for the first time in four years.

When she arrives, it's not long before a secret erupts and causes carnage on the street. The villainous brothers Damon Hay and Harvey Gaskell also make their own returns, leading to the kidnapping of a loved character.

The brothers will finally be seen onscreen together at the same time too, not having shared a scene last time around. Adam Barlow is soon fearing for his life, as one of the brothers takes explosive action - but will everyone make it out alive?

In upcoming episodes, Sarah Platt will be extremely busy as her ex lover, Damon Hay, makes an explosive return to Weatherfield. And with Damon's return, it's not long until his criminal brother Harvey Gaskell is also back on the scene.

Viewers will recall that Sarah's affair with Damon came to an explosive head earlier this year and after her husband, Adam Barlow, learnt she had lied about him being the dad of her baby, which she later tragically lost in heartbreaking scenes, their marriage came to an end with Damon not seen on-screen since June.

Scenes next week see Damon watching the couple as they chat on the street, and soon a kidnap twist unfolds. But there's more drama ahead as Damon is forced to face his brother Harvey in prison, but what does the villain want?

Adam Barlow finds himself in serious danger next week. Following his split from Sarah Platt, the pair have maintained a good friendship to co-parent her son Harry. On New Year's Eve, when Adam drops Harry off with Sarah, he notices she's all dressed up and assumes she's got a date.

Keen not to lose face, he says he has a date too - but they both soon admit that neither of them have anyone to be with and Adam offers to buy Sarah a glass of champagne. The tension between them is obvious and it's clear they both like each other.

The next day, Adam reassures Sarah he is feeling much better after suffering a panic attack and makes a plan to help Adam tackle his anxiety together. He is hopeful that this is a new start for the pair of them.

When they part outside the pub, neither of them are aware that Damon is watching. As Adam heads to his office, he is followed by a man in a van. He is tied up in the back of the van - but will he be ok?

Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes in the New Year as one character makes a dramatic return after four years. Lucy Fallon has reprised her role as Bethany Platt after she was last seen on the cobbles in 2020, and it's not long until her character finds herself involved in a Daniel Osbourne twist as his face lights up when he spots her back on the cobbles.

In the upcoming episodes this January, just as Daniel is enamoured with Bethany's return, Jenny Connor urges Daisy Midgeley to go and find Daniel and patch things up with a New Year’s kiss. But what will she find? Elsewhere, the next day, Bethany calls at her mother Sarah Platt's flat, who is thrilled to see her daughter.

A delighted Gail Platt is also happy to see granddaughter Bethany back and suggests they celebrate with a family lunch at Speed Daal. However, in true soap style, it's not long until drama entails as Daisy tells Jenny about her humiliation at finding estranged fiancé Daniel already turning his attention to his old flame Bethany.

In the upcoming scenes, things take another dramatic turn when a jealous Daisy clocks Bethany and points her out to Jenny. Wanting to support Daisy, Jenny reveals to the Platt family that Daniel slept with Bethany last night, leaving Gail, David and Sarah stunned.

Meanwhile, over a birthday drink in the bistro, Daniel tells Ken that he and Bethany are getting on well.
