Hugo Lloris looks set to call time on his Tottenham exile with a switch to MLS club LAFC - but it will not be long before he crosses paths with some fellow former Premier League stars stateside.

The World Cup-winner has found game-time hard to come by this season under Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian having installed Guglielmo Vicario as his first-choice stopper. The veteran French international was a mainstay for Spurs over the last decade but has been surplus to requirements this term.

After captaining the North London side for the previous eight campaigns, Son Heung-min was handed the armband in the summer as the club prepared for a new era and gave Lloris freedom to seek a new challenge. After failing to add to his 447 appearances so far this term, his days have been numbered since the summer.

A fresh opportunity is in the offing for the World Cup-winner, though, with LAFC having offered him the chance to rejuvenate his career in the US. The 37-year-old's contract with Spurs was set to expire in July 2024 but he is expected to join the Major League Soccer outfit for their upcoming pre-season.

Carlos Vela

The former Arsenal wonderkid found more success after departing the Premier League in 2012 but still managed five goals in 37 appearances in England. The 34-year-old has proven a major hit since his move stateside and established himself as one of the greatest players in MLS history after signing for the Californians in 2018. He has scored 93 times in 187 appearances since making the switch to the US five years ago.
