Hugo Lloris finally set to seal Tottenham exit after finding next club
Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris looks set to leave the club in favour of a move to the United States.
Lloris was first signed by Spurs in a £11million deal from Lyon in 2012. He has since gone on to make 444 appearances for the Premier League outfit and was named club captain in 2015 by then-manager Mauricio Pochettino, before being replaced by Son Heung-Min in the summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Lloris' spell in North London is set to come to an end in the New Year. It has been claimed that the France international is in talks to sign with Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.

The report states that talks between Lloris and LAFC are advanced and in the final stages, and a deal could be completed in the near future. The 37-year-old's contract with Spurs is due to expire at the end of the season, which is stated will make negotiations over his exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium proceed quickly.

Lloris had been the No.1 goalkeeper at Tottenham for the majority of his 11-year stint with the club since signing in the summer of 2012. The World Cup winner helped Spurs reach the Champions League final in 2019, but could not win a major trophy with the Premier League club.
The next chapter of Lloris' career looks set to begin in the United States with LAFC. The team, which is co-owned by Hollywood actor Will Ferrell and NBA legend Magic Johnson, finished third in the Western Conference but lost 2-0 in the MLS Cup Final to Columbus Crew on December 9.
Should Lloris complete a transfer to the MLS, he would likely become the first choice goalkeeper at LAFC. John McCarthy was the starter at BMO Stadium last season, while Maxime Crepeau started in the MLS Cup final loss to Columbus. The opening game of the 2024 MLS season for Los Angeles will be at home against the Seattle Sounders on February 24, which could be the stage for Lloris' debut should a deal be completed in time.
Lloris has been forced to settle for a spot as third-choice goalkeeper at Tottenham this season. New manager Ange Postecoglou oversaw the signing of new stopper Guglielmo Vicario in a £17.2 million deal from Empoli, who has been first-choice in the Premier League this season. Fraser Forster has been the preferred choice at backup by Postecoglou, which has restricted Lloris to not making a single appearance this season for Tottenham.
Postecoglou recently praised Lloris for his professionalism during training this season. The Spurs boss also offered a hint that Lloris' time with Tottenham would likely be coming to an end in the near future.

"Whilst Hugo hasn't been playing or part of the first team he hasn't changed his demeanour in any way. He is very professional and great for the other keepers to have him there with his experience.
"He is in the last year of his contract, the last six months now and I'm sure he will be thinking about his future but it's not something I am too focused on."
