A few The 1% Club contestants left Lee Mack lost for words as they provided a cheeky answer to a Christmas-themed question.

The Christmas Special saw host and comedian Lee ask festive-themed questions that got harder with each passing round. For the 80% question, the contestants were asked: "Which of these images rhymes with the ninth word of the chorus of 'Jingle bells'." Pictures were shown of a kite, a red bow and a cockerel.

Lee said 18 people got the answer wrong and revealed the correct answer was 'bow' which rhymes with 'Oh'. One of the men, Richard Jenkins, explained why they picked the wrong picture. Richard cheekily told the host: "Well I was swayed by the willies so I put c**k."

A shocked Lee said: "Wow…Merry Christmas." Another contestant, Shirl Essex, told the host: "I put the c**k as well."

Lee has come a long way from his humble Southport beginnings. His fame and fortune are clear to see through his ongoing shows but much of his private life is kept firmly under wraps. Lee is married to Tara - whom he met during their university days. The Would I Lie To You? star met her in 1996 while studying.

Almost 10 years later, the two tied the knot and now live in East Molesey in Surrey with their three children. Lee previously mentioned how he has to put up with people assuming that she was attracted by his high profile and fortune, rather than his charm and humour. Lee said on a podcast: "We talked the other day with Roisin Conaty.

"Her sister met Tara and said 'I assume you two have been together after you became a comedian and got a bit of money'. And I said 'no, no, we met before I ever was a comedian when we were at university.' And do you know what she said? 'Did you save her life or something?' I thought that's an incredibly bold statement to make after five minutes of meeting someone."

Millie, Arlo, and Louie are the names of his children, whom he frequently jokes about. Arlo, the couple's first child, was born a year before their wedding in 2005. Louie, their second son, was born shortly after their marriage.

The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
