PS Plus is a major part of the PlayStation ecosystem, but if you are looking for a change, this is how to cancel PS Plus or change your subscription to a different tier.

PlayStation users have had PS Plus since 2010, however it's been far more prominent since the launch of the PS4 when it was made a required purchase if you'd like to play games online. PS Plus then took a major turn last year, splitting itself off into three tiers:

• PS Plus Essential – the classic version of PS Plus, online play and three free games a month
• PS Plus Extra – everything in Essential plus access to the PS Plus Game Catalogue
• PS Plus Premium – everything in Extra plus access to the Classics Catalogue and Game Trials

Considering the recent PS Plus price increase back in September, we're sure more than a few people are looking at how to cancel PS Plus, or at the very least change what tier they subscribe to. We've got you covered on how to do that.

How to cancel PS Plus

We're going to be running down how to cancel PS Plus on various devices, so let's start with the consoles themselves.

How to cancel PS Plus: PS5

Here's how to cancel PS Plus on the PS5 console:

• Go to the dashboard
• Go to settings (next to your profile icon in the top right)
• Select 'Users and Accounts'
• Select 'Account'
• Select 'Payment and Subscriptions'
• Select 'Subscriptions'
• Select 'PlayStation Plus'

From here you'll have the option to 'Cancel Subscription', or if you want to change your PS Plus tier select 'Change Plan' and select which tier you want to use.

How to cancel PS Plus: PS4

Here's how to cancel PS Plus on the PS4 console:

• Go to the dashboard
• Go up to the icons tab
• Go to settings (toolbox icon between trophies and power)
• Select 'Account Management'
• Select 'Account Information'
• Select 'Subscriptions'
• Select 'PlayStation Plus'

Just like with the PS5, from here you'll have the option to 'Cancel Subscription', or if you want to change your PS Plus tier select 'Change Plan' and select which tier you want to use.

How to cancel PS Plus: PlayStation App

Here's how to cancel PS Plus on the PlayStation App on mobile:

• Open the PlayStation App
• Go to the PlayStation Store tab
• Click the three-line icon in the top right
• Select 'Subscriptions Management'
• Click 'Subscription Settings' under the PS Plus tab

From here you'll be able to cancel your subscription with the 'Cancel' button or change to a different tier of PS Plus with the 'Change' button.

How to cancel PS Plus: PlayStation Website

Here's how you can cancel PS Plus through a browser on the PlayStation Website:

• Go to the PlayStation Store Website
• Sign into your PSN account
• Click your Icon in the top right
• Click 'Subscriptions Management'
• Click 'Subscription Settings' under the PS Plus tab

From here you'll be able to cancel your subscription with the 'Cancel' button or change to a different tier of PS Plus with the 'Change' button.
