Piers Morgan furiously hits out as he denies being pigeon lady in Home Alone
Piers Morgan has been forced to deny he plays the Pigeon Lady in the Home Alone film series.
The 58-year-old broadcaster is targeted on an annual basis when film fans re-watch Home Alone 2: Lost In New York around the festive season. The 1992 family comedy sees Macaulay Culkin, 43, reprise his role as Kevin McCallister - getting separated from his family during the Christmas season and surviving in New York City until they are returned.
The film co-stars 78-year-old Irish actress Brenda Fricker who plays the Pigeon Lady - who helps Kevin escape from criminals who are out to get him. But in the years since the film was released, fans have noticed a striking resemblance between Piers and Brenda.
As the festive season got underway in 2023, Piers was bombarded with comments online - and he was quick to try to preempt a viral moment. Sharing a screenshot of Brenda in character as the Pigeon Lady via X/ Twitter, Piers wrote: "It's. Not. Me." adding two angry emojis. But his comments only served to rile up social media fans who took fresh aim at him.

Another fan published a comparison snap of Piers beside Brenda's and wrote: "Uncanny".
The joke began back in 2018 when his son tweeted an image of the character and joked: “Chilled night watching Home Alone 2… Always forget you’re in it @piersmorgan.”

In 2020, he lashed out at online comments, when the comparison was raised on Good Morning Britain, back when he was a host on the show.
Susanna Reid raised the topic, and Piers immediately started to laugh, and asked: "Why does this keep going around?" Susanna said: "Lots of people watch Home Alone 2 and wonder if this is you." Piers protested: "That is not me. I am not the bag lady in Home Alone 2!"
Showbiz correspondent, Richard Arnold, then asked: "How does Brenda Fricker feel about this?" And Susanna assured: "Yeah. She loves it." Piers continued to protest, saying: "It's not my character. I have nothing to do with it." But Susanna argued it was his "best role".
Piers's own son had ridiculed him over the comparisons just days earlier. Spencer Morgan, 30, had previously noted the similarity between his dad and the character - so was thrilled when Home Alone fans made the observation go viral again in 2020.
He tweeted at the time: "While I'm delighted it's back in the news let's not forget who started 'Pigeon Piers'." Dad Piers came back: "Bold nuclear war to start with someone who has 7.7m followers, son... good luck."
