Kourtney Kardashian is getting ready to celebrate her first Christmas as a mother-of-four and many fans have been wondering if she will spend the holidays with her family.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan love to host extravagant parties over the festive season and this year will be no exception. However, after giving birth to her first child with her husband Travis Barker, Kourtney already decided to spend Thanksgiving away from her famous sisters.

Relationship expert Louella Alderson believes Kourtney could also spend Christmas away from her family amid "changing dynamics". Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: "It's not uncommon for families to spend holidays apart, especially when they have multiple households and different schedules.

"For Kourtney Kardashian, as a new mum, it's understandable that she would want to spend time at home rather than travel to Palm Springs with her sisters and all of their children." However, the expert insisted: "This decision doesn't necessarily mean that there is any strain on her family relationships, but it could be a sign of changing dynamics within the Kardashian clan."

As well as her newborn son with Travis, Kourtney shares three children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick - Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, eight. Travis shares son Landon, 20, daughter Alabama, 17, and step-daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 24, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

At the start of her pregnancy, Kourtney kept things quiet from her family, something which annoyed Khloe Kardashian. Louella said Kourtney has "always been more private and reserved" when compared to her family and she suggested the Poosh founder kept her pregnancy quiet so she could keep it as a special moment between her and Travis.

Louella added: "There is also the danger with secrets that the more people you tell, the more likely it is to get out, and perhaps Kourtney wanted to minimise the risk of any potential drama or leaks. In a world where she has had limited control over her narrative and privacy in the past, perhaps Kourtney is cherishing the opportunity to do things independently of the Kardashian family."

Louella said Kourtney's kids and her new blended family will "be her priority over her sisters". She added: "This could mean that she will continue to spend important holidays, like Christmas, with her new family unit rather than the extended Kardashian family."

Kourtney has managed to develop a successful co-parenting relationship with her ex Scott. Louella suggested: "The Disick children may have chosen to spend Thanksgiving with Scott and then spend Christmas with Kourtney, Travis, and their new baby. This could be a way for both parents to have quality time with their children during the holidays."

The expert added: "It's clear that family dynamics are evolving and changing, especially between Kourtney and her sisters, as she moves into a different phase of her life with a new husband and stepchildren. The Kardashian sisters have an incredibly close bond, but as they all navigate their own personal lives and growing families, it's natural that their dynamic will change."

Kourtney and Travis were very open about their desire to have a baby together and Louella believes this time will be very special to the proud parents. "It's understandable that Kourtney wants to savour every moment with her husband and their newborn baby, especially during the holiday season. It doesn't necessarily mean that she is purposely excluding her sisters, but rather just prioritising her time differently now as a mother and a wife," she told us.
