Kate Ferdinand says Christmas with husband Rio is what she's 'always dreamed of'
Kate Ferdinand has sweetly revealed that Christmas with husband Rio Ferdinand is what she's 'always dreamed of'.
The former TOWIE star, 32, and the footballer, 45, appeared on the Princess of Wales' Royal Carols: Together At Christmas, which aired on Christmas Eve on ITV.
Kate and Rio led the stars during a special segment, where a handful of special guests discussed their childhood Christmases. Rio said: "Christmas is always something that stands out, spending good family time and creating memories."
To which Kate added: "All being together, having fun, being in our matching PJs." Talking about her childhood Christmases, Kate said: "I was an only child and I lived with just me and my mum. But that's why I just love being surrounded by so many kids, Rio's got a massive family, so this Christmas that we have now, is probably the Christmas like I always dreamed of!"
Kate married Rio in 2019. The couple recently welcomed their second child together, a daughter called Shae, in July. They also have son, Cree, who was born in 2020. Kate is also a stepmother to Rio's children Lorenz, Tate and Tia - who he shared with late wife Rebecca Ellison before she tragically died of breast cancer in 2015, aged just 34.
Rio Ferdinand delivers verdict on Marcel Sabitzer transfer with no hesitationThe former TOWIE star also took to Instagram ahead of the special show, writing: "Me as a little Christmas pudding. If only I could tell that little girl what a blessed life she would end up having. And that no matter the ups and downs it would all be the making of her... Last week I was so lucky to be invited by the @princeandprincessofwales to the carol service at Westminster Abbey as part of @earlychildhood #ShapingUs.
"I know only too well that our experiences, relationships and surroundings during early childhood shape us, the rest of our lives and future society. I can only bring all of that to shape our amazing 5 children and I truly hope they will be as lucky and grateful as I am now. I am so excited to work more on their campaign and you can watch The Princess of Wales’ Together At Christmas carol service on @itv at 7.45 pm on Christmas Eve."
The Princess of Wales hosted her Together At Christmas event earlier this month on December 8, welcoming her family, members of the monarchy and inspiring individuals in celebration of those supporting children and families. This year, the carol service focuses on the importance of early childhood and thanking those who are supporting the very youngest members of society during their early years, as part of the Shaping Us campaign.
The event was broadcasted on Christmas Eve on ITV, as part of the special programme, Royal Carols: Together At Christmas. It featured additional material including films emphasising the importance of early childhood and contributions from celebrities such as Rio and Kate and Dame Sheila Hancock.
