Katie Price just hasn't got the energy to whip up a spread this year

Katie Price says her family will be getting a take-away on Christmas Day and not turkey - because she can't be doing with the stress of cooking.

The mum-of-five claims she hasn't got the energy to put together a festive feast because she finishes work at 6pm this evening. Katie is in Panto in Liverpool and so far her performance have been slammed with reportedly being paid a whopping £60,000 for her stint as The Wicked Fairy Carabosse in the Sleeping Beauty production.

She says she doesn't have the time to cook on Monday so will be ordering curry instead. Speaking on her podcast, the 45-year-old explained that the long drive home takes it out of her so the kids can forget about the traditional feast with all the trimmings as she wants a chicken jalfrezi.

"Do you know what I'm doing Christmas Day? I am exhausted and I finish panto at six o'clock Christmas Eve," she told her sister Sophie on the show. "There's no way I'm coming with the kids, all their presents, for a five-hour drive back home, to have Christmas Day to get up here for two o'clock for Boxing Day."

She went on: "I'm not having that stress. So Christmas Day I'm not cooking, I'm going to get a takeaway curry." It's unclear which of her brood - Harvey, 21, Junior, 18, Princess, 16, Jett, 9, and eight-year-old Bunny - will be spending Christmas with their mum in Sussex.

She's back up to Merseyside on Boxing Day and her co-star Bippo recently joked Katie only learnt "two of her 25 lines" for the performance. M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, where Sleeping Beauty is being performed, have since slashed its ticket prices for the panto by 25 per cent.

In a post on its official Facebook page, organisers said: "Calling all fairy tale fans! "Sleeping Beauty has awakened at the M&S Bank Arena, and she's spinning a magical Christmas adventure for the whole family! For a limited time, get 25% off selected shows. Book your tickets now and escape into a world where dreams come true (and curses get broken by true love's kiss!)." The show kicked off last Saturday and runs until December 30.

It comes after some theatre-goers dubbed Katie's performance as an "absolute disgrace". A video that was posted of her dancing out of time for the opening night garnered harsh comments from fans. One person said: "Maybe, just maybeKatie Pricecould learn the routines. She was an absolute disgrace. Clear to see how hard the other cast members have worked .. very clear she thinks she can rock up making zero effort!!!"

Another person wrote: "Lol you hardly had any words, did no rehearsing and Bippo acted you off the stage. Good work you can’t sing or act - your family must be so embarrassed." However Katie has been defended by her fans as one said: “Maybe the nasties could have a day off, its nearly Christmas ffs.." And another wrote: “You were fab,we loved it. Totally confident and funny as!"
