James Corden's famous celebrity feuds as Mel B brands him 'biggest d***head'
James Corden bowed out of hosting The Late Late Show this year - but since he started hosting the show, he has been engulfed in a number of spats.
The 45-year-old actor, comedian and television host first began hosting the show in 2015 - giving his star power a new boost. But he has been engulfed in arguments with actors, singers and fellow comedians and talk show hosts in the years since.
In a recent episode of Late Night Lycett - with Joe Lycett - Mel B doubled down on her views that James is not the most pleasant celebrity out there. James is soon to return to the UK having quit his Late Late Show gig.
And he has confessed previously that he acted badly after he found fame in the UK and USA. He told the New Yorker in 2020: “I started to behave like a brat that I just don’t think I am.” Here are some of the biggest celebrity arguments James has had.

In December 2022, Mel B was a guest on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show and was asked by Mo Gilligan to name who she considered to be the "biggest d***head celebrity". Mel drew gasps when she announced: "So, there’s a few... James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J and me!"

Mo was initially confused to hear Mel mention one of her fellow Spice Girls in the list, and replied: "But Geri, she’s your bandmate?" Mel then giggled: "I know, I love her to bits but she’s really f*cking annoying."
Big Narstie himself then closed in on the fact Mel had also mentioned Gavin and Stacey actor James, and asked: "You said James Corden, what did he do?" Confessing all, Mel said: "I think you always have to be nice to the people that you work with whether it be production, camera guys, sound, lighting – we all work for the same thing. So, you should always be nice and he hasn’t been very nice."

Back in 2010, Sir Patrick hit out at James when he was hosting the Glamour Women of the Year awards. The Star Trek actor seemed to take offence to the talk show host’s comedy skills.
Sir Patrick said: “When the presenters are up here and when the recipients are receiving their awards, don’t stand at the back of the stage with your hands in your pockets looking around as though you wished you were anywhere but here.”
James protested, saying: “Oh, you couldn’t be more wrong, Sir. You couldn’t be more wrong. If it looked like that, I’m so sorry. But when you come up to present an award, just f***ing get on with it.”
Patrick then said: “From where I was sitting I could see your belly,’ the Star Trek actor continued, ‘and that was night over there at the back of the room.” As tension mounted, James snapped: “Sorry I’m waiting for the punchline, go on. No, seriously, go on,” before going on to throw abuse at the Iconic TV, stage and film star - calling him “old”.

It’s not just been other celebs throwing insults at James - he’s also uncovered arguments of his own. Appearing on Khloe Kardashian’s Spill Your Guts Or Fill Your Guts show in 2017, the British star revealed he had past beef with Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.
Khloe asked James: “Name a celebrity who has been rude to you at a party.” After an initial hesitation, James then said: “There was someone. But I don’t know if we’re going to try and book him on the show. I don’t know if I can drink it.”
Khloe demanded: “screw him and tell us the name.” This provoked James to say: “Pierce Brosnan. I don’t think he’s a rude man, he just happened to be [to me]. I went to see U2 and I was there with my friend Louis and his wife, and my wife, and Pierce Brosnan was with some friends and they left halfway through the gig to go off, and we left the space [for them] And then they had been gone quite a long time and Bono was like right there on this sort of big runway in the middle of the show.”
He added: “So me and my wife moved into this area, and literally, I’ve never felt anything like it, this arm went on here and just pushed me out the way. And I looked at him, and he didn’t even glance at me and he just moved back into his area.” Khloe suggested Pierce was just being playful, but James retorted: “Maybe he’s just a bit f*****g rude.”

Last year. Balthazar restaurant owner Keith McNally claimed that James had been the rudest customer he had ever come into contact with. He claimed the Gavin and Stacey star was “nasty” and rude.
Hitting out after the Late Late Show host had dined in the establishment, Keith said: “James Corden is a hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.”
James himself protested his innocence, saying later it was “never my intention” to upset staff – but he did admit he had been “ungracious” when he was in the high end restaurant. The pair later made up via a phone call and James ultimately drew a line under the “silly” disagreement.

Comedy star Ricky has often used James as a punchline in his TV shows and when on stage. However, his dislike for the TV star seemed to increase when he accused him of stealing some of his material.
The After Life star was outraged when James a monologue about Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover - which seemed to rip lines from some of Ricky’s stand up. He said: “So that is clearly my routine but I don’t think he came up with it at all. I think a writer pitched that to him and didn’t tell him it was mine, or the writer forgot.
“I don’t know. I want to be fair. But what I don’t believe is James Corden watched that and thought “I can just rip that off”. There’s just no way. There is no way James Corden watched that and thought ‘I can get away with this.’ It was the biggest special of the year. There is no way he thought “I can rip him off”. He was horrified. No chance.”

Real Time with Bill Maher host, Bill Maher, inadvertently sparked a war of words with James in 2019 when he made comments about people being overweight. He argued fat “isn’t a birth defect” and no one “comes out the womb needing to buy two seats on the airplane… Fat-shaming doesn’t need to end, it needs to make a comeback.”
James took issue with the wording and took aim at the TV rival in a slot on his own show. He said: “We’re not all as lucky as Bill Maher, you know? We don’t all have a sense of superiority that burns 35,000 calories a day.
“In the meantime, Bill, while you’re encouraging people to think about what goes into their mouths just think a little harder about what comes out of yours.”
