Police are hunting for a man after a teenage girl was groped by the chest in a food shop, leaving her shaken.

The alleged assaulter was said to have approached the girl inside Food4Less in Bedlington, Northumberland. The man then grabbed the teenager by the chest, around 3.15pm on Friday, October 6, leaving her understandably shaken. The man then fled the premises and the incident was reported to police.

Northumbria Police say extensive enquiries have been ongoing since the report came in – and now officers have appealed to the public. They are keen to speak to anyone who may have information and who could assist the investigation. That includes a man who was in a black electric wheelchair and in the shop at the time.

Described as a white male, aged 50-60-years-old, bald, and wearing all black clothing, ChronicleLive reported that the possible witness had a local accent as well.

That person, anyone who saw what happened or has information that could help, is asked to contact police using the 'Report' pages on the Northumbria Police website, or call 101, quoting reference: 125428K/23.
