James May's Our Man In India comes to Prime Video in January and fans can't wait

James May will be returning to our screens in the New Year with the latest in his travel series - Our Man in India.

And the trailer for the much-loved Amazon Prime Video show has already been viewed more than a million times, with fans from across the world saying they can't wait to tune in. In it, the 60-year-old Grand Tour star candidly reveals feeling 'miserable' during his escapade through Asia.

The first-look clip, which you can see above, captures a downtrodden James trapped in a downpour while confined to a Tuk Tuk. Yet despite the dreary weather, our host's customary humour shines through as he deems his situation 'fantastically miserable', before cheekily requesting a brolly. Throughout the series, viewers will witness James crisscrossing India from coast to coast, embracing the creative, historic, culinary, and cultural aspects of the diverse country.

The trailer features Our Man marveling at breathtaking destinations and expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to escape the chaos of everyday life. Starting in Mumbai, he journeys north through Udaipur, immersing himself in the Holi festival, celebrating spring, love, and new life. The footage shows him joyously taking part in the festival of colours, with vibrant powders filling the air as thousands join in the revelry.

Covering more than 3,000 miles of the Indian subcontinent, James goes on to explore Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, continuing eastward along the Ganges to the holy city of Varanasi. His travels also take him to Kolkata and the Himalayan foothills around Darjeeling before concluding his adventure in the natural wonders of the Sundarbans. Throughout his journey, much like his previous outings to Italy and Japan, the star provides a unique and entertaining perspective on the rich tapestry of the country's landscapes, traditions, and festivities.
