Martin Kemp was hailed an 'absolute gentleman' after helping a disgruntled fan with a critically ill husband who wanted to resell their tickets.

The star is playing his Christmas Back to the 80s set at Dreamland Margate on December 22, with one fan originally buying accessible tickets in hopes of attending the event with her ill husband. However, as he's in the ICU, she contacted the ticket-selling website in hopes of reselling the tickets.

She had no answer after three days and took to social media to contact them again. Her first tweet, sent on December 19, read: "You won’t allow me to resell the accessible tickets for @realmartinkemp at @DreamlandMarg and you are not responding to my requests for info. My husband is critically ill in the ICU. If we had ‘normal’ tickets, I could have resold them. How is this not discrimination?"

On Friday, she tweeted again: "Still no reply???? @DreamlandMarg - is this who you choose to sell your tickets? Absolutely no response to blatant disability discrimination. Husband is still in ICU by the way. (Hope you have a great set though @realmartinkemp - sorry we can’t we be there)"

Martin caught wind of the tweet and told the fans he would personally refund their tickets as they never received an answer from the website. He retweeted the post and added: "I’m so sorry to hear this I will follow you and you can DM me I will refund your tix personally And I will follow up... More than that I wish your husband well. And wish him a speedy recovery And when he is well, come to another show as my guests!!"
