Rihanna admits her Super Bowl pregnancy announcement was a complete accident
Rihanna excited millions when she unveiled her pregnancy during her Super Bowl performance this year but the pop singer recently confessed that it was done on accident due to a wardrobe malfunction.
This February the 35-year-old singer dazzled viewers with her iconic halftime show performing her famous chart-topping hits during one of the biggest performances of the year. And her show was made even all the more memorable as it was the first time fans discovered she was pregnant with A$AP Rocky's second baby Riot as she showed off her small baby bump on stage.
While many thought this was an intentional move, Rihanna has since admitted it was purely accidental as her tight bright red costume wouldn't zip up the night of the big game. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Rihanna said: "Here’s the thing - I do what I have to do, right?
"My jumper couldn’t zip up. No one knew I was pregnant - I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy.' So the underarm, it was stretchy, and [the bottom of the jumper] was baggy, but you know ... [On the day of the show] the zip, it just stopped right there. So it had to be what it had to be!"

Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportAs pregnancy rumors immediately sparked following the show, Rihanna officially came out with the exciting announcement that she was expecting her second baby with her long-term partner A$AP. This marks her second child with the rapper as the music power couple previously welcomed their first son RZA last year.
In the vulnerable interview, Rihanna also spoke of her deep connection to her boyfriend A$AP Rocky and the incredible way their dynamic has shifted since they've become parents. She sweetly gushed to the news outlet: "I loved him differently as a dad. This is major, major like - it’s a turn on. What a leader, what a great, patient, loving…and my kids are obsessed with him. I’m just a background, like, I’m an extra."
Rihanna and ASAP have been longtime friends and made their romance official in 2020 following months of dating rumors and many years of being by one another's side. Although the pair have yet to reveal to the world if they've privately exchanged vows, fans believe it's a possibility as they've noticed A$AP refer to Rihanna as his "wife" a number of times in both speeches and lyrics this year.
Rihanna raved over her growing family to the news outlet revealing that it has always been one of her lifelong dreams to be a mother. She said: "I hoped that I could have kids one day, and I hoped I could have them in love, and I hoped that I can be a part of a family that you know, breaks generational curses and just like, moves forward and does new things, and raises our kids better than we’ve been raised, and all the beautiful things, and it’s happening, and I can’t believe it."
