The Chase's Jenny Ryan battles back the tears as she grapples over huge decision

Jenny Ryan struggled to fight back the fears as things became emotional during an episode of Celebrity Escape to the Country.

The 41-year-old quiz show queen had to tussle with big decision on the programme, which she appeared on alongside partner Thom Tuck. The Chase star - know to ITV fans as The Vixen - welled up after finding a cottage she wanted to share with her family. Viewers saw her appear on the BBC show with a budget of £850,000.

There were some hard calls to make as they were shown around some stunning homes surrounded by greenery. One lavish property caught her eye but she struggled to maintain her composure as she reminisced about living in London - and spoke about moving closer to her original home, nearer her family.

Chatting about her love of the cottage in the woodland surrounding the area, Jenny, who is originally from Bolton, Lancashire, said: “This feels like the beginning of a fairytale, it is astonishing. I'm hearing the bird song now and I know my stepdad would be in his element here because he's a keen bird watcher. He's travelled the world looking at birds.”

She added: “It's something that we've done as a family for quite a few years and it's part of that going back and enjoying nature. There's so much more potential for that, for sharing a new stage of life with this property, because it's got something for all of us and we can share it out more equally.”

On Wednesday’s show, host Jules Hudson then asked Jenny: “Is there a bit of emotion in your voice?” Jenny said: "Yes, I am. This is what's got me. The woodlands. It feels like we're back in time a little bit here." tomThe semi-detached, stone cottage itself was on the market for £695,000. Jenny had a big decision to make.

When asked what her plan was by Jules at the end of the episode, the telly answer expert and her partner Thom said they did intend to look at purchasing the property - however, she told the host that she wanted her parents to look over it first before getting the ball rolling.

“I really value their input,” she said as the group discussed the next step.. “They won’t see me wrong.” Jenny then described how as a quizzer, she is known for making fast and impulsive decisions but would be taking it slow when it came to finding a new home.
