Prince Harry is reportedly "adamant" he wants to spend more time in the UK and is thought to be "holding out hope" for a family reunion this Christmas.

The Duke of Sussex lives over 5,000 miles away from his family in Montecito, California with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie, age four, and Princess Lilibet, age two. A flight from LA to London takes over 10 hours - even with a private jet - so popping back to see family is no mean feat.

But sources have claimed that Harry wants "nothing more than to be able to spend Christmas in the UK" and that he is "still holding out hope for a family reunion over the holidays".

They told new magazine that Harry reportedly isn't as fond of the way Americans celebrate Christmas and is certain that the Windsors do it best. "He's got invites from friends to join them and it's where he feels at home," the source revealed. "He doesn't feel the Americans can do Christmas like the Brits and he certainly doesn't think anyone can celebrate Christmas like the Windsors.

"Harry is adamant that he will spend more time in the UK next year so that he can build bridges with his family. He wants to repair it and doesn't want it dragging on."

Tom Quinn, an experienced royal expert, has said that the couple, who both live in California, may attempt to rekindle their frosty relations with their British family before December 25. He told Daily Express US: “I suspect that because Harry is beginning to realise he needs the royal family more than the royal family needs him, he may well try again to patch up the relationship as we get towards Christmas Day."

The Royal Family usually spends Christmas at Sandringham House, a three-hour drive from London. But for the last four years, Harry and Meghan have remained in their luxury $14m property in Montecito, California, with their two kids.
