Linda Nolan has revealed that Christmas has a new meaning to her.

The star who was catapulted to fame as one-fifth of the singing sisters The Nolans was left devastated when her cancer returned in 2017. Originally, it had spread to her liver but earlier this year, Linda, 64, revealed it had also spread to her brain.

But the star has received positive news from her oncologists, who stated that her treatment appears to be working as scans have shown shrinkage of the tumours on her brain. The positive news before Christmas has certainly given Linda a new spring in her step as she reflected on the festive period.

In a new interview, Linda revealed she "wanted to kiss" her oncologist as he shared the positive news with her. But that's not all, she admits that she's also been fortunate enough to be present at "some goals" she had. Speaking to Best magazine, the singing star said: "Christmas has taken on a whole new hue, I had some goals before." One of these goals was to "make it to Christmas," with Linda saying: "Here we are, God willing."

But how does one of Ireland's biggest exports and her family celebrate Christmas? Linda revealed that all 17 of the family are heading out for Christmas lunch before returning to her sister Denise's home to open their gifts. But Linda, who runs Hudson's Gin admits that she won't be going wild as some of her medication doesn't respond too well to alcohol.

Since her cancer spread to her brain, Linda has been living with Denise and her partner after suffering a series of falls at her home in Blackpool. But, she has an incredible support network around her and revealed that all of her family frequently check in on her.

Speaking about the positive news she received before Christmas, Linda told Good Morning Britain: "I didn't think I'd make Christmas. I was hoping to make the birth of my nephew, who was born at the end of July, and then I was thinking, 'How many more milestones will I make?'

"And at the moment, I feel good. I've got a little bit of pain but I was walking about yesterday; we went to the beautiful garden centre and I was having a walk around to keep moving. They said, 'Don't sit down all the time or nothing will work', and I just looked and thought, 'How lucky I am.' After nine months and getting the worst possible news, having a great time with my sisters and now it's all excitement for Christmas."
