The only way we see getting through the festive season is with all the cosy essentials and pyjamas will always be at the top of our wishlist.

Christmas pyjama sets can be anything you want them to be - festive, comfortable or so luxurious that you will keep them on throughout the whole holiday. A pyjama or loungewear set has definitely become more of a staple for most fashion lovers in recent years, and it certainly shows with what's on offer at our favourite brands.

We have been looking at our best picks for over the festive period and found some pretty beautiful sets which can take us through into the new year while still feeling quite stylish while unwrapping our presents on Christmas morning.

Our Regional Lead for Fashion & Beauty Bethan Shufflebotham shopped at Pour Moi for her Christmas pyjamas this year.

If you’re looking for a pair of pyjamas that feel festive but could still be worn year-round, then this blush and forest green set from Pour Moi is perfect. The forest green is reminiscent of a pine tree while the check print reminds me of traditional wrapping paper, but the pink offsets the seasonality just that little bit that means you can get away with them beyond the holiday season. The contrast piping on the edge really elevates them making them look even more expensive than their £45 price tag would suggest.

Super soft and snuggly, they’re made in a brushed cotton fabric that helps keep me warm on chilly nights, meaning I can turn the heating down a few degrees, too. Better still is they have a smartness about them which means you won’t feel at all caught out if you have to answer the door to a last-minute delivery or unexpected guests . What's more, accessorising with some fluffy slippers and a cute hair bow, it’s very much an effortlessly ‘cosy glam’ get up.

My favourite feature of all, though, is of course the elasticated waistband, which makes them easy and comfortable to wear all day long and there’s no button to need undoing after Christmas dinner.

Available in sizes 8-20, the Pour Moi pyjama set can be purchased for £45 here.

Reviews and Mirror Choice writer Eve Rowland has tried the Boux Avenue Red checked pyjamas set.

When it comes to pyjamas, my go-to is usually (and rather unglamorously) an old baggy t-shirt and some shapeless shorts that are years old. But this festive set from Boux Avenue has changed the PJ game for me - especially in the colder months. Sporting the classically Christmas colourways of red, green and white, these checkered PJs are so soft and comfortable that it makes getting ready for bed quite a treat. Plus, they make whoever’s wearing them look pretty adorable (if I do say so myself).

Coming in a bag - something the brand is well-known for, offering ‘pyjamas in a bag’ - the set is made up of long, loose trousers and a long-sleeve revere top with a lovely threaded trim on the cuff.

One detail that makes these ‘jamas a bit special to me (and extra Christmassy) is its sparkle thread detailing that’s so subtle yet injects a sprinkle of festive joy into the set, making them look a smidge more luxurious than their £35 price - although they’re currently on sale for £24.50.

With them being made from cotton too, it means they are super cosy and warm (which is great when the temperature plummets) and the elasticated waistband on the trouser makes them far too easy to wear all day and all night.

If you’re someone who wears pyjamas for Christmas Day, these are a pretty perfect set. Add some for additional warmth and a gold or red headband for some festive accessorising. And when Christmas dinner calls, the trouser’s stretchy waistband has you covered.

Reviews Editor Stacey Dutton ordered a personalised pyjama set from Bluebella, which look to be a favourite for a very long time.

When coming across Bluebella to find a pyjama set, I felt massively spoilt for choice. I just knew that, if anything, I needed a set which I will want to wear right into the new year with a much less seasonal print.

I purchased a pair of satin green pyjamas last year and it just hasn't felt right wearing them throughout all seasons- so I came across a gorgeous white pair. And even better still, a pair I could get personalised!

For £52.95 (personalised initials included), it may seem like a steep investment but, believe me when I tell you how good the quality is of these pyjamas. Wow!

The great thing about the Tarcon Eco Viscose Long Pyjama Set also is that it is super soft and breathable while eco friendly. I hate to admit but I can be a sweaty mess some nights in bed (regardless of how cold it is outside) so the more lightweight my pyjamas are, the better.

In sizes 6-20 (I ordered a size 12 for an oversized feel), this sleek duo reimagines traditional nightwear cues with a modern approach and soft, responsibly-sourced viscose. From the loose, comfortable cut to the perfect little details like the fabric-covered buttons, everything about this set embodies everyday luxury.
