A woman has died of cancer eight days after being diagnosed as her family says there will be 'no Christmas without her'
Maggie Dorans went to hospital for a biopsy after feeling unwell for a couple of weeks. Doctors had tried to find out the cause of her weight loss and poor appetite. She found a lump and was taken into hospital for a biopsy. It was only days later the 41-year-old discovered she had liver cancer. After the it was discovered on December 6, it was later found in other parts of her body and her health rapidly deteriorated before she died eight days later on December 14.

Maggie and her partner Peter McGillvery were together for 23 years and her 49-year-ol partner said the "world is a darker place" without her. GlasgowLive reports he said: "It’s just unbelievable, she was such a nice person. I’m not going to be the same person again. "
He questioned if the family could celebrate the festive season without Maggie being around as she was such a big part of their family. Peter said: "What was left and her final two days were horrific, she couldn’t sleep through the night. It was just horrendous seeing her go through that and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. The world is a darker place. I don’t even know if there is going to be a Christmas without her."
Maggie went to hospital for a biopsy after finding a lumpThe couple would often go to football matches together and when she was with her cousins and enjoyed the days out watching sport. But she also loved a game of bingo when she could get together with friends and relations.

Peter mentioned Maggie's great love of the children in the family, and added: "She was funny and really caring and would do anything for anybody if she could. She never held a grudge. Maggie made me a better person. She loved her weans, including my daughters. She made sure no one was short of anything. Until the end, she was still telling me how to make sure to get certain Christmas presents to make sure nobody is missed out. She was still thinking about other people. We are overwhelmed with the support we’ve received from everybody."
Her step-daughter Emma added: "She was the light in a dark room, the one who was always there for all her friends and family, and the one everyone would go to."
Maggie's loved ones have launched a GoFundMe to give the mum the special send-off she deserves and hope others can help too.
