Jessica Chastain shares sweet gesture by Taylor Swift after Met Gala meeting
Taylor Swift knows a thing or two about break-ups - and it seems she's more than happy to share her coping mechanisms.
Actress Jessica Chastain, 46, discovered this generous and thoughtful side of her character after meeting the Shake It Off singer at the 2011 Met Gala. It was her first time at the fashion event, and was seated next to her at the star-studded dinner. In conversation, Jessica told Taylor that she had just finished with a boyfriend, and her admission ended up sparking a new enduring friendship.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jessica explained that after a night of dancing, Taylor sent her a playlist of break-up songs to help her navigate a rough few weeks.
She said: “We were both sitting next to each other … and she was so sweet, I just went through a break-up and I was talking to her about that, and we went and danced together — it was such a fun night. And then the next day, I had an email from iTunes that said, like, ‘ Taylor Swift ’ or whatever, and I just thought that it was a Taylor Swift album."

Jimmy Fallon, 49, was astounded. “What are you kidding me? That’s unbelievable!” he said.
Jessica replied: “I know! And here I thought it was like a Taylor Swift advertisement, And she had, like, curated all these break-up songs to send me to help me get through my break-up.”
It's not known who Jessica had broken up with when she met Taylor, but she met her future husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo in 2012, marrying five years later.
Twelve years on from their first meeting, the pair are still friends, with Jimmy showing viewers a photo of them backstage at one of her Eras Tour shows earlier this year. Jessica explained: “I was in Mexico City and she was touring there and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to Taylor’s concert'."
Taylor's love for her girl mates is well documented. Earlier this month, she had a night on the town with her pals Selena Gomez, Zoe Kravitz, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Cara Delevingne, who were part of a group arriving at Lucali in Brooklyn for dinner.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, renowned body language expert Judi James revealed that Taylor's girl's nights out "are such an important part of her brand". She also noted that the singer has "Queen Bee behaviour" that shows her to be "loyal and fun".
Judi then went on to add: "Women are often accused of dropping their girlfriends when they’re dating a new guy but Taylor’s behaviour as head of her posse suggests she puts her girls first, no matter what. This in turn creates a strong message of continuity to her Swifties, who can seem themselves as an extended part of that posse."
