Boy George has admitted having dinner with Matt Hancock since they appeared together on reality TV show, I’m A Celebrity.

The Culture Club star – who described the disgraced MP as “slimy” while in the jungle – said he has spent time with the former Health Secretary in the past year. But he still does not agree with Mr Hancock’s actions while in office. And the singer would also be happy to go on a dinner date with Nigel Farage.

George, 62, explained: “I was in the jungle with Matt Hancock and I’ve seen Matt since then. I had dinner with him, but obviously that doesn’t mean I support what he did. I understand how I feel about it, but there’s also that point where someone has to get on with being a human being. You can’t just carry it on.

“Are we best friends? No. Would I be friends with Nigel Farage? I don’t know. I’d sit and listen to what he’s got to say – and disagree with it.”

Asked if he had been following the trials and tribulations of this year’s I’m A Celeb contestants, George said: “I have. I saw Nigel Farage’s bottom and I was like, ‘Wow, that’s [worth] more than I paid for the TV licence’.”

Mr Hancock was the shock entry into last year’s camp, but went on to finish third. He has since appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. This year ITV bosses signed up former European Parliament MP Mr Farage for £1.5million. He also finished third.
