Abbey Clancy asked Peter Crouch to 'delete her number' after awkward club moment
Model Abbey Clancy revealed she told her husband Peter Crouch to delete her number when they first met.
Abbey started dating the footballer in 2006 and got engaged to him three years later. The two tied the knot in a lovely wedding two years later and later welcomed four children, Sophie Ruby, Liberty Rose, Johnny and Jack. The duo have their own podcast, The Therapy Crouch, where they talk about 'the trials and tribulations experienced' by them.
In a recent episode, Abbey opened up about what happened when they first met at a nightclub. It was around the time he scored his first goal for Liverpool and Peter ended up chatting to his future wife. They initially hit it off but things sour when she saw him talking to other girls.
The episode had them chatting to The Inbetweeners star James Buckley and his wife Clair. She said Pete frequented the venue she worked at but they never talked until one specific night - which was her best friend Kaz's partner's birthday.
Discussing the moment they met, she said: "I was working then I went down to the club downstairs and Pete was there, and I just remember my heart pounding. As I was going to the loo I was like 'Oh well done'." Speaking to her husband, she asked: "You'd scored your first goal for Liverpool, didn't you?" Peter responded: "Yeah, took me a while."

Pete denied doing so and told her: "I wasn't chatting another girl up, we were in a nightclub." Listening to the conversation, James quipped: "Player. Respect."
Abbey agreed and said: "Proper player," before Pete joked: "I was a top sh***er back then" and laughed. The two have been very open about their relationship, with Abbey admitting they struggle with their romance at times. Thankfully, he surprised her with a trip to Thailand in November.
"Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it's hard to keep the spark alive," she admitted. "The main thing is not to take each other for granted, and Pete surprised me with a trip to Thailand, which was such a thoughtful thing to do. However, the trip wasn't without its hiccups. Abbey laughed as she recalled: "The only thing was Pete didn't realise it was monsoon season it rained non-stop!" and "We were there for 48 hours and we didn't leave our room."
Despite the weather, Abbey appreciated the effort. She told New! Magazine: "Pete says it wasn't his finest hour, but I didn't moan. I was just grateful for all the effort he'd gone to. I feel rejuvenated, and like I can be a better mother and wife."
