NFL legend Rob Gronkowski will not form part of on FOX's NFL TV coverage in Week 15 as he is set to to sing the national anthem at the LA Bowl instead.

The clash is at SoFi Stadium on December 16 will see the man nicknamed 'Gronk' hosting instead of Jimmy Kimmel for a first time ever. He will take part in a series of entertaining interludes before the UCLA Bruins face the Boise State Broncos in the annual college football spectacle.

In one potentially memorable moment, the former New England Patriots superstar going to race a dog in 'The Gronk Bowl' before kick-off. He's also set to belt out the US national anthem but he won't be alone in that respect as the New Directions Veterans Choir will back him up.

Gronk told TMZ about his singing gig: "It's kind of like I'm the quarterback and I have the best offensive line in front of me. So, they can make me look good because I sang the national anthem before the committee, and they all looked at each other, and Julian Edelman was there as well.

"And Julian looked at me as well and goes, 'I need ten more shots for you to go on, so I can keep listening," he joked as he gears up to sing in front of a 70,000 capacity crowd in Los Angeles, before suggesting: "So, they're going to make me look good."

The idea of Gronkowski having to exhibit his singing skills in front of fans seemed to tickle his former Patriots teammate Tom Brady. The legendary ex-quarterback tried to boost Gronk's confidence ahead of his big moment in Los Angeles, on the 'Let's Go!' podcast.

Gronkowski hinted that he's been practicing his singing for the game, telling Brady: "I've gotten a lot better Monday's episode. But the fans are all gonna be drunk, so I'm gonna sound good to them," to which his old Patriots teammate replied: "You're gonna sound great."

"You just smile up there and everyone is gonna have the best feeling in the world. I'll be watching just for that," said the seven-time Super Bowl champ. Gronkowski then added: "I'm gonna start raising the roof, get everyone screaming while I'm screaming so I sound good."

Earlier, 'Gronk' expressed his excitement about hosting the LA Bowl. He said: "Football has brought me so many incredible opportunities andI'm thrilled to return to college football as the host of my very own bowl game.

"We are going to light up college football bowl season. This game is going to be epic, so I better see everyone at the LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk at SoFi Stadium on December 16!"
