Woman trapped in body of 8-year-old asks fans not to be 'hateful' to new partner
Shauna Rae has begged fans to refrain from being judgemental of her new partner as she is forced to keep their identity secret to protect them from online hate.
Shauna, who stars in TLC's show I Am Shauna Rae, has a rare condition which sees her "trapped in the body of an eight-year-old". She is trying to enjoy her newfound love, but says her condition can make things more difficult.
Shauna has a rare form of dwarfism which means she has always looked like a little girl, despite now being a fully grown adult. She has tentatively introduced her new partner to the world on Instagram, but kept their identity a secret, apparently to avoid them becoming a target of online hate.

Shauna's previous love interest Dan was sent online abuse for being with her (TLC)The 3ft11 24-year-old’s previous boyfriend Dan Swygart came under scrutiny from fans who said it was weird he was attracted to her. Online pressure made it tricky for the relationship and the couple broke up in April.

On The Sarah Fraser Show podcast, Dan said people assumed he was interested in Shauna because of her appearance. “They categorised me in the most hated group on the planet,” he said, which led to a barrage of online hate.
Shauna has been open about this problem and has said her condition has previously led to her attracting “creeps”. Her form of pituitary dwarfism, which resulted from a brain injury when she was younger to remove a cancerous tumour, her body’s developmental level remains at that of an eight-year-old, making it difficult to have a mature adult relationship.

Her relationship with Dan didn't progress further than a kiss (INSTAGRAM)Dan said their relationship, which was documented on season two of Shauna’s show, never progressed to the next level and the couple only ever shared one kiss. On Wednesday, Shauna introduced her new partner in an Instagram post, while keeping their identity a secret by using they/them pronouns and covering the person’s face with emojis, apparently protecting them from any inevitable backlash.
"So I've been keeping a secret… for awhile actually," she captioned the carousel of sweet photos. "All you really need to know is they make me happy and I don't know if I'd be as far in my goals without them," the caption continued. "Please know that all I ask from y'all is to support me and refrain from being hateful toward them or my relationship."
"Your welcome to your opinion but if it's not supportive you can discuss elsewhere," she added. "Any hate towards my partner is hate towards me and I don’t tolerate that. I support each and every one of you and I ask for that respect back," she continued, before expressing her love to her fans and signing off the post.
