Lorraine Kelly broke down on her ITV show after the husband of her late producer shared his wife's final request before dying from cancer.

ITV producer Hannah Hawkins sadly lost her battle with cancer in November just months after giving birth to her baby boy Rory. The producer was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time whilst pregnant with her son.

Her partner Tom joined Lorraine in the studio on Friday with Rory as he opened up on his inspirational wife and dealing with grief. Speaking about his late wife's final weeks, he said: "She was focussed on us being okay.

"One of the last conversations I had with her was she was saying, 'I want you to find love again, I want Rory to grow up in a family and have brothers and have sisters." Lorraine commented: "That's so typical, her thinking about everything else.

"A remarkable girl. She had breast cancer and then it came back when she was pregnant and you knew how bad it was, but when someone is still with you there's hope so it was a real shock to everybody."

"Absolutely," Tom agreed before going on to say how proud he is of Lorraine's Change + Check campaign, which this year saw a new charity single dedicated to Hannah. The Change + Check choir topped the charts with a track called Golden, performed with Joss Stone as part of the breast cancer charity campaign.

At the end of Friday's Lorraine, the Change + Check choir performed the charity single while the Scottish presenter watched on with Tom and baby Rory. Lorraine was unable to keep hold of her emotions and burst into tears while the choir performed the song.

Meanwhile, Hannah's husband paid a heartbreaking tribute to his late wife when confirming her death last month. He wrote on Instagram: "There is no way I can pay tribute or sum you up in one post. In fact I could write an essay on how unfair this is. That you miss out on seeing Rory growing up, that he won’t be able to feel the love of his mum, and that this terrible illness took hold so quickly.

"But that’s not how you saw it. The remarkable person that you were, the phrase you used so many times over the last few weeks - and it set me off every time; “I’m so at peace with the life I’ve lived” is something we can all admire. The fact that right until the end you were putting others feelings first and making us all laugh was just you to a tee.

"Your life can be defined simply by love, friendship and strength and I’ll make sure these are cornerstones of Rory’s life. I want him to know how much everyone loved his mum, and how much love you gave. How you would say to me in any of my dark moments, “remember you are so loved”.

"I want him to know that you were someone who could walk into a room of strangers and come out having made friends for life, and that our social calendar was always so full we physically couldn’t fit in everyone we wanted to see. I also want him to know the bravery you showed everyday, facing into anything life threw at you with strength of a warrior, a smile on your face and laughter in your eyes."
