Before the latest series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! wrapped up, angry viewers lodged complaints with Ofcom over a comment Fred Sirieix made at Sam Thompson.

In recent episodes, First Dates star Fred suggested that Made In Chelsea star Sam was a "child" who should stay in the camp and "play with his toys". He also said that Sam should stay in camp while the "men" complete the challenge after Sam showed interest in participating.

Without much discussion from the other campmates, Fred declared: "I'll go with Marvin" before the camp could vote on who they wanted to do the Fly On The Wall trial. He then told Sam: "You stay here and play with your toys", leaving radio host Sam looking downcast.

After the episode aired, Ofcom received 60 complaints from viewers who labelled the comments as "rude" and "disrespectful", according to The Sun newspaper. One viewer reportedly said: "Sam looks so upset, he was only saving an argument saying that he doesn't care who does the trial, the fact that Fred said that Sam wants to play with his little toys is horrible", while another added: "As much as Sam annoys me with his sometimes childish behaviour, I really think that was way out of order. Fred actually hurt his feelings."

Another was quoted as saying: "Fred patronising Sam telling him to "play with his toys" what a p****", while a fourth said: "What Fred said to Sam about playing with his toys whilst they do the men's stuff was uncalled for, Sam didn't deserve that, the bloke has managed to turn the whole country around on their opinion of him in a few short days, used to love him, now can't stand him."

Now that the dramatic series has come to an end, Sam looked the complete opposite of deflated when he was reunited with his girlfriend Zara McDermott on Wednesday, after spending weeks in Australia. The show winner and the Strictly star had an emotional reunion at the airport as they packed on the PDA - hugging and kissing - as they celebrated his win.

Proud girlfriend Zara even brought along balloons to greet her boyfriend, who became tearful as they reunited after his jungle win. Zara also hugged reality star Pete Wicks, who had gone to Australia to support his best friend Sam while he was in the jungle.
