Ashley Cain in tears as he explains heartbreaking reason he keeps his beard long

Ashley Cain explained the reason he's growing out his beard following the death of his daughter Azaylia.

Former Ex On The Beach star Ashley and his ex Safiyya Vorajee had a little girl called Azaylia, but she tragically passed away in April 2021 after battling leukaemia for many months of her life. The duo documented the difficult journey and shared many updates with fans online.

The couple decided to call time on their relationship just weeks before the first anniversary of her death, with the two still sharing a strong bond. And now, Ashley - along with many famous faces - took part in the Real Full Monty to raise awareness about cancer and share the importance of checking for symptoms.

One segment had the stars sharing their experiences with cancer and Ashley opened up about his little girl and the reason he grows out his beard. When asked by Coleen Nolan how he feels, he said: "I'm f**king angry. I'm angry. Every single day that I wake up in the morning, I'm sad.

"Every single day that I wake up in the morning I'm in pain. I go through mega-extreme amounts of trauma. Cancer took something from me that's way more important than my own life and I miss that little girl with everything in my heart and my body. I'm trying to do everything I can do in my life to make a difference so that other parents and kids don't have to go through what I went through.

"This experience bought back some experiences that I had in the hospital when I was feeling pain and I was feeling sad but I used to pick that little girl up and I used to dance with her all day to try and make her life a little bit better and in turn, it made my life a little bit better. It was during COVID-19 and I was living in the hospital room and I couldn't get a haircut so naturally I started growing a beard.

"As my beard was growing and Azaelia was growing. She used to hold onto it, she used to pull me in with it. She used to run her toes through it and it was our little connection and I kind of thought to myself, she's touched these very hairs on my face and I'm never going to cut them off. This beard is my strength and regardless of whether people like it or don't it's gonna stay on my face and it's just a beautiful memory."

There wasn't a dry eye at the table as Ashley shared the touching story. Meanwhile, Ashley recently revealed he is expecting a baby boy following his split from Safiyya. The star explained he is not in a relationship with the mother of his unborn son, but says they have been friends since the age of 18.
