I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Grace Dent admitted leaving the camp was her 'biggest regret'.

The 50-year-old restaurant critic quickly returned to the UK after quitting the series for medical reasons before the public vote began on the ITV series. She bid an emotional farewell to her campmates in a letter and the remaining stars later made a toast to her before tucking into dinner.

While at camp, viewers grew concerned for her as they pointed out that she became visibly frail after surviving on a small diet of beans and rice. After returning to the UK, Grace said she was 'overwhelmingly sad' to have left the jungle but a source told the Mirror she was "really struggling" in camp.

And now that the programme has ended, with former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson being crowned the King of the Jungle, Grace opened up about her experience in the jungle as well as her regrets.

Grace confessed: "Leaving my campmates and the girls will be the greatest regret of my life." She also shared her takeaways from the experience. The star said: "Take risks, say yes, and the things that you think you can’t do, you can." Grace's exit from the show was announced by ITV.

A spokesperson for the show said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike." Earlier this month, Grace shared a gruesome and detailed insight into what it was really like at the camp.

Although she kept quiet on her way to Brisbane Airport, she spoke out on social media and spared no detail about the insect-infested challenges. In the lengthy Instagram post, in which the food critic detailed her 'overwhelming sadness' at having to leave the show, Grace revealed the realities of camping Down Under.

She shared how the once-in-a-lifetime experience "gave me a short, sharp glimpse into the pain some folk worldwide endure". Going into detail about the gruesome experiences from the show, Grace penned: "For as long as I live, I shall never forget the cockroach that entered my ear canal and the sound of its little feet creeping closer down to my brain. It took us two goes to lure him out. Sat on the grass behind the ‘Scarena’ he finally washed up.

"The jungle showed me how quickly I could become blasé about sleeping with hungry rats, noisy toads, moths and Huntsman spiders. It taught me that when you have to sleep close to the enemy the trick is to stay calm, have empathy and that screaming achieves nothing but wasted calories.

"The jungle showed me that I am physically stronger than I thought; I can carry a lot of logs and water uphill, build fire and eat hare innards at dawn for breakfast." Following the various horrific camp experiences, Grace revealed she planned to "recover" and "make some serious plans for dinner". She then joked: "Three courses, extra potatoes, definitely pudding. I think I deserve it."
