Jon Rahm has been granted access to the Saudi Arabian royal jet, as well as a 10-strong team as part of his record-breaking deal with LIV Golf.

Rahm became the latest big name to join the LIV setup last Thursday after weeks of speculation. Despite having acquired the services of the likes of Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, Rahm is the league's biggest signing yet after penning a reported £450million deal with Greg Norman and co.

In the days after his mega-money move, further details on the European Ryder Cup star's eye-watering contract have been released, per The Sun. According to the report, Rahm's benefits do not just stop at his mega-money cheque. "The contract is for four and a half years, and he will also have shares in the league to own and run one of the teams," a source revealed.

"He also got nice presents from the LIV, like using one of the Saudi Royal private jet for him and his family, but also many perks like money allowance for housing and I think 8-10 people that will work for him, from a personal assistant to personal chefs, between others."

When it comes to his £450m bonus, it is understood that the Spanish star will initially be handed half of the fee up-front ahead of his debut season. Rahm's deal has not just sent shockwaves across the world golf, but the whole of sport too. The contract is the third biggest in sport's history, and for around 24 hours was the second, before he was pipped by MLB star Shohei Ohtani, who penned the most lucrative deal of all-time with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth a staggering £558 million.

The eye-watering amount put in front of Rahm by the Saudis proved too good to turn down, but the green jacket winner did insist that his decision was not one only driven by finances. "Things have changed a lot in the game of golf over the past two years and I’ve seen the growth of LIV Golf and the innovation,” Rahm told Fox News.

“That’s why I’m here today. This decision was made for many reasons and what I thought was best for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great deal. I’ve been very happy but there is a lot of things that LIV Golf has to offer that were very enticing. It was a great offer. The money is great, obviously it’s wonderful.

“What I said before is true: I do not play golf for the money. I play golf for the love of the game and for the love of golf. But, as a husband, as a father and as a family man I have a duty to my family to give them the best opportunities and the most amount of resources possible and that is where that comes in.

“I’m no stranger to hearing some negative things on social media or in media. It’s part of what it is, we’re public figures but you just learn to deal with it right? This certainly won’t define who I am or change who I am.”
