It's the time of the year when Christmas parties are on everyone's minds and if you are looking for a dress that adds elements of fun to this festive season, I have the dress that shimmers just right.

Silver is the trending colour to wear this Autumn/Winter, it's also the unanimously choice for celebrations and parties. You might have seen Frankie Bridge rocking an all-silver outfit on the Loose Women show and Rochelle Humes wearing a sparkly silver midi skirt.

While my general rule of thumb for Christmas-themed dresses is jewel-toned velvet dresses and Nobody's Child has a range of amazing choices. I have tried on a few of them and was impressed by one little red velvet dress.

But I've decided to hop on the silver trend and tried on the Metallic Vienna Mini Dress and I understood why everyone's loving a silver outfit and the best thing is, I can rent the dress for 5 days for £20.

The little silver dress is one to make a statement and be the talk of the party. It has short puffy sleeves that adds volume to the garment and the mock dress design sits right above knee in a relaxed cut.

It's telling me that I don't have to worry about a thing if I stuff myself with too much party food.

When I was browsing the wedding/party edit rail, the dress' shiny metallic fabric was what made it stand out from the rest of the darker-hued dresses.

I tried it on with a pair of sheer black tights with polka dot pattern and lilac-coloured Mary Jane pumps. It's adorable and I loved the plunging V-neck and the tie detailing at the back.

As a person who prefers to dress sexy in confidence, the Vienna dress ticks all the boxes for me.

The dress is retailed for £79 at Nobody's Child store and online but the brand has launched a rental service and I could rent it for £20 and wear it as many times as I want for five days. That means, it costs £4 per day.

The fee includes professional cleaning and a free return label, it also covers any accidental damages to the dress. This lifted my worry of ditching the dress after just one wear.

If dresses are not your thing, two-piece co-ord suits are also very trendy and there are lots of choices on the high street. We have tested five different festive suits from New Look, H&M, Primark, River Island and M&S.
