Sam Thompson was smiling like the cat that got the cream as he left Australia after winning I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here!

The 31-year-old former Made In Chelsea star was the latest winner of ITV’s long-running reality show - triumphing over fellow finalists Nigel Farage, 59, and Tony Bellew, 41, to snatch the jungle crown. And while Sam’s victory was watched by record low numbers of I’m A Celeb viewers - as more than four million chose not to watch the final episode - the reality star looked pretty pleased with himself as he prepared to return home to the UK.

Snapped gliding through Brisbane Airport alongside best friend Pete Wicks, 35, fellow jungle campmate Marvin Humes, 38, and his wife Rochelle, 34 - with the group looking in high spirits as they prepared to begin their long flight home, Sam will soon be reunited with his girlfriend Zara McDermott.

Former Love Island star Zara, 26, was unable to fly to Australia to reunite with her boyfriend as she is rehearsing ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 finale - which will see all of the past contestants from the current season return to watch either Bobby Brazier, 20, Ellie Leach, 22, or Layton Williams, 29 scoop the Glitterball Trophy. Sam has previously explained how much he is missing Zara, having appeared on Lorraine Kelly on Monday morning.

Host Lorraine, 64, said: "Zara couldn't be there because she was doing Strictly Come Dancing, all the schedules didn't really work out, but I don't know if you've seen this. You should have seen her reaction and your family's reaction when you won. It was amazing!"

To which Sam sweetly said: "You know what, I've seen a clip but I haven't even properly turned my phone on yet but someone showed me and it made me cry! I was like that's all my nearest and dearest, all of my friends and colleagues all being in that room together. I've never had that amount of people support me or need to support me for anything. It's such an amazing feeling, quite overwhelming, I'm a very very very lucky person to have that around me!"

It’s not just his reunion with Zara that will give Sam reason to smile - as he is also set to earn mega bucks following his I’m A Celeb triumph. A source told the Mirror: “After lots of reality show appearances, Sam can now choose his next TV moves. Whatever happens the show has been a huge boost for him, winning him fans and in the future some new TV deals and promotional gigs, it’s win win.”

While other reports have suggested Sam could command huge fees for posting messages for brands online. Entertainment Daily reported: "Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson has an Instagram following of 1.4million and could earn £2,652.92 per post."

Sam - and his best friend Pete - have already seen some benefits to his jungle stint as his stage show, Staying Relevant, which is to tour the UK in 2024 has sold out following his latest reality show appearance.

And it is reported he could see new job offers coming his way - with some sources even predicting he could end up as a new host of This Morning. A TV source told MailOnline: “There is no one that loves TV more than Sam Thompson, he has proven that throughout his stint in the jungle. The ITV viewers now love him back and after winning I'm A Celeb by a landslide, it makes sense to keep him on the channel and utilise his new profile.

“Producers are keen to get him on the show during days where Josie is presenting and then there's Marvin Humes too, it's important for them to nurture their talent once they have it. The world is Sam's oyster career wise, and more broadcast is definitely part of the plan and a natural progression following the jungle.”
