Pete Wicks to cash in after brief I'm A Celeb stint - without entering jungle
Sam Thompson may have won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here but his best friend Pete Wicks is reaping the rewards of his success - without having to set foot in camp.
The 2023 season of ITV’s long-running reality show may have been a ratings disaster - with millions turning off as Z list stars took to the Australian jungle and some viewers boycotted in protest at the inclusion of controversial political figure Nigel Farage, 59. But for 31-year-old Sam and his best friend Pete, 35, there has at least been some positive news following the ex-Made In Chelsea star's time in the bush.
Sunday night saw Sam getting crowned winner of the season - with over four million less viewers tuning in to watch compared to the 2022 finale of the show. And even though record lows watched the show, it seems record high new fans have taken interest in the reality star - with ex-The Only Way Is Essex star Pete also reaping some rewards of his own.
As pre-existing fans of Sam will already know, he and Pete have been close friends ever since they appeared on Celebs Go Dating together back in 2019. They have since set up a podcast titled Staying Relevant and often share amusing video clips of themselves pranking each other online.

This will help boost Pete’s own income as fans flock to see the lads take to stages in cities including Glasgow, Manchester and London.

While Sam is also tipped to see a huge earning boost following his jungle victory - with some reports suggesting he could earn over £2 million per social media post from some brands and see his TV career morph into presenting roles, with some tipping him to become a new This Morning host. Due to the inseparable nature of their friendship, it is likely Pete could also see huge endorsement deals of his own come his way thanks to his suddenly much more relevant friend.
Even though Pete was not a contestant on I’m A Celeb - he simply flew to Australia to greet Sam after he won the show instead - he is able to benefit from it as though he were a member of the 2023 cast. And it’s not just his professional life that is getting a boost thanks to the ITV reality show, Pete’s private life is also getting an exciting change.

Among those heading back to the hotel following their jungle stint was ex-EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, 31 - who Pete has already grown very close to.
The pair were potted looking enamoured with each other - as photographs from the I’m A Celeb wrap party suggested they may have kissed, while the duo could hardly keep their hands off each other. Body language expert Judi James has already predicted this could be the beginning of a sizzling new celebrity romance.
Reviewing paparazzi photographs of Pete and Danielle, Judi said: “Walking together they look engaged in a positive convo and despite the fact she has her drink held up in a partial barrier, Danielle’s smile is sending approval vibes. The shot of them standing together looks a lot more convincing in terms of possible mutual attraction though. Their proximity looks telling and their heads look close enough for a kiss, plus Pete has his fag arm around Danielle’s back which is always a sign of interest and attention in TOWIE.”
