Prince Louis' gleeful remark as he picks out King Kong toy on visit to baby bank

Prince Louis was heard gleefully telling his sister “this is a big guy” as he picked out a plastic King Kong at a baby bank.

Prince William and Kate’s children were helping with a Christmas gift appeal by selecting bags of toys for underprivileged kids. It was while going through the offerings that Louis’ eyes lit up when he saw the large King Kong.

Royal fans rarely get the chance to hear the voices of the Wales’ children, and they got a treat after Kensington Palace released footage of the trip with Louis excitedly saying: “This is a big guy” to his sister Princess Charlotte, who in turn said: “Ooh la la” when she saw all the toys.

The Princess of Wales made an official visit to the baby bank in Holyport near Maidenhead in April and returned yesterday with her children for the festive event. At one point Kate has her arm around George and says: "You can see how rewarding this work is, knowing that you're helping out others," with her eldest son saying "yes" as he nods in agreement.

The Royals captioned the clip: "Our experiences, relationships and surroundings during early childhood lay foundations that shape the rest of our lives, and future society. Supporting parents and carers, who are doing their best to provide for their families in challenging circumstances is essential and can have a life-changing impact."

The statement continued: "Baby Banks are warm, caring places for families to access equipment, products, clothes and toys to help relieve some of the stresses creating significant pressures on people caring for babies and young children." All of the royal children wrote out gift tags, with Charlotte neatly folding clothes and George picking out a colourful shirt for a boy. In one sweet moment, Charlotte can be seen giggling with her mother as they found a Babygro with a Welsh flag on it.

The video ends with the family carrying the gift bags for them to be donated to families across the area, and the message: "Thank you to everyone who so generously supports Baby Banks across the country." The Baby Bank at Windsor was set up by two local mothers in 2015 and has since supported more than 24,000 families in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

The use of food banks and so-called baby banks, which collect clothes, supplies and furniture for children in need, has grown in recent years as high inflation and government spending cuts have widened the gap between rich and poor in Britain. A report released Sunday by the Centre for Social Justice concluded that the gulf between mainstream society and those stuck in poverty would soon rival that of the Victorian era.
