Corrie DNA bombshell as new arrival with link to another character makes debut
Coronation Street will air the arrival of a new character before the year ends, ahead of a major new storyline.
New spoilers reveal one current resident will be left shocked by the arrival of a family member they never knew existed. A DNA bombshell rocks the resident in question, and soon a past character is making contact too.
Carla Connor will learn she has a secret nephew, when new character Bobby, played by Jack Carroll, arrives and reveals he is the son of her killer brother Rob Donovan. Just as Carla is dealing with her heartbreak after her split from Peter Barlow, who is leaving the show, Bobby shows up and drops the news they are related.
He delivers a sob story, only for his dad to make contact with sister Carla and reveal what's going on. Carla tells him he can stay with her for a few weeks, but she soon realises he could be sticking around when his possessions are dumped on the street via a delivery van courtesy of Bobby's mother.
Carla is annoyed but realises she can't leave him without anywhere to stay, leading to stepson Simon Barlow offering up his room. But Bobby is soon causing trouble leaving Carla unimpressed.

Coronation Street spoilers for the end of December confirm the debut of a new character (ITV)Recently, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod teased Bobby's arrival and confirmed he had big scenes ahead. Iain told The Mirror: "He’s Rob Donovan’s son that Carla didn’t know existed – and here he is suddenly causing all kinds of trouble for Carla with immediate effect and basically what we wanted from Bobby’s character and from Jack was a gobby little troublemaker with a heart of gold.
"I spoke to Jack about the part before he accepted the casting and he was just going down a mental check list of everything I was saying and going yep, tick, that’s me, and that’s me as well.
"So I think there is a really brilliant synergy between the performer and the character and he’s going to be a massive ball of energy for us and loads of fun and he’s just going to tip Carla’s life upside down in lots of very interesting ways."
He went on: "And as a slightly more long range tease, he’s going to end up surprisingly in the centre of perhaps our biggest story next year which I can’t say too much about now but he's got a brilliant classically Coronation Street role to play at the start as this loveable sarcastic classic Corrie feckless male.
"Then he abruptly finds himself in the middle of this huge story next year so I’m really excited about the casting and the part and his role in the next 12 months and beyond."
