Zara MacDermott 'so proud' of Sam Thompson's baby nephew after major milestone
Zara McDermott has revealed that she's 'so proud' of Sam Thompson's nephew after celebrating her boyfriend's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! win on Sunday evening.
The Made in Chelsea star was crowned King of the Jungle last night, beating runner-up Tony Bellew and third place finisher Nigel Farage for the coveted title. Zara, 26, was quick to publicly congratulate Sam's triumph, taking to Instagram to share his delighted reaction to the news alongside his supportive family and friends. The Love Island contestant is also jumping for joy for another reason, after her partner's nephew, Leo, accomplished an exciting update about his development.
"He said 'Sam' properly for the first time last night with no lisp, bless him. Proud auntie I can't believe how much he's talking now, the little chatterbox," she captioned the clip. "He pointed at the bunting with Sam's face on and shouted 'Sam!' and I just screamed, LOUISE! HE SAID SAM WITH NO LISP!" Leo, who turns two this month, is the son of Sam's sister Louise and her fiancé Ryan Libbey.
It's no secret that he's become very close to Zara, however, who has proven herself to have a natural knack with small children. "He’s adorable. He’s just been practicing his snogging. The other day he was snogging my face off, he’s so sweet. We love him to bits," she said last year. Sam wasn't as thrilled about Leo's arrival, however, admitting that he didn't see the big deal of being an uncle at first.
"Whenever anyone first has a kid, you don’t really realise until it’s more in your immediate family, but the first few months is pointless,” he said. "They’re just like a stone that s***s and eats. They don’t know you, they don’t care who you are. If they [Louise and Ryan] have another one, I’ll just be like, ‘Hey, I’ll see you in four months.’ Maybe later, maybe six months! Now, he’s brilliant. He remembers you, he puts his arms around you, he basically said, ‘Uncle Sam, I love you so much.’ But it’s great now because at the start he just wouldn’t move. He’s just awesome, he’s the cutest."
Sue Cleaver feels 'more empowered' as she labels her 50s her 'happiest decade'Sam, 31, has been dating Zara since 2019, after the model slid into his DM's following his breakup with Sophie Habboo. The pair briefly split, however, in October 2020, after the Strictly star admitted to cheating on Sam during her stint on Celebrity X Factor. Zara publicly apologised for her actions and after working things through, two were officially back together two months later.
