Terrifying moment 'XL Bully' attacks man on station platform as train approaches

This is the terrifying moment that a dog, reported to be an XL Bully, launched a brutal attack on a train platform after their owner lost control of them.

The video, believed to be filmed at Stratford station in East London yesterday evening, showed the shocking moment a man falls over near the edge of a platform as a train approaches and he's attacked by a large dog.

Two huge dogs seen in the footage reportedly belonged to a woman seemingly struggling to control them when one man stepped in to try and help her.

He was said to have offered to hold one dog so she could put the leash on the second. However, it was then that the animal seemed to turn on him. The video shows the dog controlled by the man leaping up and down at him, snapping at him as he struggles to keep it under control.

Meanwhile, further down the platform the woman clings onto the other dog's harness as it strains against her, looking towards where the other dog is. The woman is said to repeatedly shout "give me the dog" and eventually she begins to move down the platform as the man topples over and the first dog lunges towards him when he’s on the ground.

The man can be seen desperately scrambling backwards as the dog appears to lunge at him again, before the woman, still clinging onto the large dog, grabs it, as a train rolls into the platform.

Stunned onlookers can be seen watching from afar, as others look to put some distance between themselves and the two dogs. It was said that the man who was attacked came to the woman’s aid after she struggled to control the dogs.

The woman is eventually able to get a handle on both dogs before the man makes his escape, fleeing down the platform. The Mail reported that the dog was able to bite the man several times, sending feathers from his jacket floating down across the platform.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Officers were alerted to a reported dog attack just after 4.30pm yesterday (10 December) at Stratford station.
