Colby Covington slams "biggest cheater" Leon Edwards before UFC title fight
Colby Covington has criticised Leon Edwards for 'cheating' in fights ahead of their UFC world title clash.
The final UFC pay-per-view of the year will see Edwards defend his welterweight belt against former interim titleholder Covington in Las Vegas. Covington took issue with Edwards committing several fouls in his trilogy fight against Kamaru Usman in March and accused the Brit of intentionally being a dirty fighter.
“As a fighter, Leon Scott is the biggest cheater the sport has ever known. I thought ‘Marty’ [Kamaru] Usman was a cheater. Man, this guy makes ‘Marty’ look like a fricking saint. Leon is a cheater. He’s poking people in the eyes, kicking people in the nuts, grabbing the fence," Covington told Mirror Fighting.

"The guy’s the biggest cheater the sport’s ever seen and that’s the only way I was able to prepare for him. My main training for this camp was making sure that I kept my glasses on at all times because I don't want to get poked in the eye. He's going to kick me in the nuts and grab my shorts, anything he can because he's a cheater. I can't wait to end his reign."

Edwards has refused to engage in much trash talk with Covington and brushed off comments the American made about their fight being like the 1776 Revolutionary War. Covington doesn't think much of Edwards as a person and called for his bitter rival to be 'IQ tested' before their fight.
“As a person ‘Leon Scott,’ a.k.a. ‘Low IQ Leon,’ what’s his grade level? What’s his level of education? I swear that guy is a mumbling, fumbling idiot. He is literally always drooling on himself. As a person, I just think that guy is just a waste of f****** chromosomes and a waste of space," Covington added.
“Honestly, I would love to know so can someone tell me. This is all I want from this journalist out there, please dive into Leon Scott’s IQ. What is his level of education? Did he graduate middle school? Did he even get through elementary school? Because the guy is dumber than a box of rocks.”
