What is the upcoming series about?

The Power takes place in a world much like the one we live in, but a twist in nature means every girl suddenly develops the ability to electrocute people as they become teenagers.

This nature-based power is hereditary, and not only can it be used for destruction but also to awaken the power in older women.

The arrival of this ability leads to a reversal of gender-based power balance in the world, creating a society where women are the dominant force.

The thrilling series follows the rise of a matriarchal society - accompanied with suspense, drama and plenty of electrifying scenes.

Amazon has released an official statement, detailing how the superpower is “hereditary, it’s inbuilt, and it can’t be taken away from them”.

It adds: “Coming alive to the thrill of pure power: The ability to hurt or even kill by releasing electrical jolts from their fingertips, they rapidly learn they can awaken the Power in older women.

“Soon enough nearly every woman in the world can do it. And then everything is different.”

The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.
