Evelyn attacked

Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes next week when Evelyn Plummer is left in danger. In upcoming episodes this week, Evelyn witnesses a man, Terry, mistreating his dog and remonstrates with him to which he turns on Roy Cropper.

Thankfully, Cassie Plummer comes to their rescue as Roy films Terry before reporting him to the police. Later in the week, Evelyn watches Terry pull up outside a charity shop and he leaves his dog alone in the van. And after hearing the dog whimper, Evelyn rescues the canine and brings it home.

Things go from bad to worse next week when Terry corners Evelyn in the precinct but she denies knowing anything about his dog, whom Hope and Ruby have named Taylor after Taylor Swift. After the incident, Evelyn is horrified to find Cassie taking Taylor out for a walk and bundles them back into the house.

However, unbeknown to them, Terry watches from across the street and he tracks Evelyn down to the shop. Flipping the sign to "closed", he bolts the door and menacingly advances on Evelyn, demanding to know what she’s done with his dog. Dev Alahan finds the door locked and enlists Gary Windass to help him break it down.

Later in the week, Tyrone's hopes that they’ve seen the last of Terry are dashed when he calls at the garage and handing Tyrone his contact details, orders him to return the dog by 6.00pm otherwise he’ll regret it. Things go from bad to worse when Tyrone realises Roy took the dog to the rescue centre and Evelyn realises they’ve no choice but to collect the dog from the rescue centre and return her to Terry. Evelyn worries more when Terry is released on bail as she's certain she will be contacted by the police for dognapping.

Sarah DNA twist

Sarah Platt is left stunned over a new bombshell. Soap watchers will recall that back in October, cobbles killer Stephen Reid was finally killed off as all of his evil crimes and murders were finally exposed to his devastated family.

In upcoming scenes, Stephen's mother Audrey Roberts shows her late son's belongings to Jenny and asks her if there's anything she'd like. Jenny takes his laptop, explaining that she used to borrow it from time to time.

When David suggests she should throw Stephen’s diary in the bin as she’ll find it upsetting, Audrey won’t hear of it, adamant that he wasn’t all bad. Audrey refuses to bin the rest of Stephen’s things and as David studies Stephen’s journal, he's taken aback to discover that his mother Gail was initially unsure who his sister Sarah’s father was.

And David wastes no time in telling Sarah that Gail wasn’t sure who her Dad was when she was born. How will Sarah react to the bombshell?

Triple exit

Coronation Street viewers could be losing four characters in a matter of weeks on the ITV soap. Three more exits could air later this month just before Christmas, including a major character who debuted 17 years ago on the show. It comes amid huge discoveries and secrets being exposed, with explosive scenes on the cards.

Ryan Connor could be about to depart the show amid a job offer, a new romance and an affair coming to light. Ryan Prescott's character looks set to flee Weatherfield, after his fling with Daisy Midgeley leads to a showdown with her partner Daniel Osbourne.

Before Ryan can tell new flame Crystal about the one-night stand that has led to chaos on the street, Daniel storms into The Bistro to confont him about it. As Ryan flees, a fight breaks out as Daniel catches up with him and lays into him over his betrayal.

Crystal is stunned by the news, but offers Ryan hope. She tells him that she’s prepared to give him another chance, but there's a twist.

She plans to leave Weatherfield for good and head to Glasgow in two days' time, and she tells him he can go with her if he wants to make things work. So will Ryan leave the show for good?

Another exit is also sealed, as Stu Carpenter's enemy Dom also prepares to exit after months of drama. The pair clashed over Dom's daughter, Stu's granddaughter, Eliza.

When Eliza wanted to live with her dad after being reunited Stu was gutted, especially as Dom was using her to wind up Stu after he refused to give him thousands of pounds. But later this month, Stu learns something about Dom's past and threatens him.

Stu then offers Dom £10k in cash to stay out of Eliza’s life for good, and it seems he agrees to take the money but will he really leave? Later that week, Dom calls at No.6 with Eliza's things leaving her confused over the fact he's brought all her stuff given she's only meant to be there for a few days.

As Stu and Dom exchange knowing looks, it seems Dom is set to do a runner - but how will Eliza react? It comes after Bernie Winter's fate was sealed in new spoilers for the ITV soap, ahead of scenes airing this week. It could be the last we see of the character for a while, as an exit is thought to have been confirmed.

New Rovers owners sealed

The new Rovers Return owners are 'revealed' before a shock bombshell next week. Viewers will recall that Daisy Midgeley recently cheated on fiancé Daniel Osbourne with Ryan Connor as the two gave into temptation, embarking on an affair before Daisy cooled things off, picking Daniel. Daniel had been suspicious that something could be going on and this week his worst fears come true when he receives a video of the duo discussing their affair.

Next week, having gained permission from Waterfords, Daniel shows Daisy into the empty Rovers and suggests that rather than buying a flat in Redbank, they buy the pub instead. A guilty Daisy is gobsmacked over the gesture, will she go through with it?
