Nigel Farage and Marvin Humes are set for a rough time tonight as they're covered in gravy and vegetables in the latest Bushtucker Trial.

The former UKIP leader and JLS singer are set to take part in a trial on Friday night's I'm A Celebrity where they certainly have a nightmare before Christmas. Titled Have Yourself a Grotty Little Christmas, the duo are tasked with sitting in a tub filled with carrots, potatoes and sprouts as they search for stars.

To make things worse, they are drenched in thick gravy that splatters all over their heads and back. Ant quips: "Woah its splashing that gravy," as it nearly reached the hosts. Dec adds: "You have got to have a bit of gravy." Marvin struggles to find anything under all the vegetables but says: "Gravy smells nice though."

Marvin and Farage struggle to find any stars as the ex UKIP leader fumes: "I can't see." Dec then teases: "Anything we are missing," to which Farage replies: "Yes, bread sauce or cranberry." Dec assures: "Coming right up," as they pair are covered in a white thick sauce while continuing to search for stars.

Farage's appearance in the I'm A Celebrity camp has not gone down well with viewers. Before he headed Down Under, many fans of the show declared they would not tune in to see the GB News presenter in camp while others started a petition against him appearing on the ITV reality programme.

While in camp, he was seen fuming over his lack of airtime and show insiders even told The Mirror he is too dull and a waste of money. It followed reports the Brexit campaigner was paid a staggering £1.5million to appear on the show. A senior TV source told the Mirror: "People I know working on the show think Farage is one of the least interesting campmates ever. He is very boring and producers have struggled with fun storylines to show a different side to him. He’s good for Brexit and culture wars stuff, but outside of that, the local wildlife is more entertaining than he is."

Some viewers have now branded the series a "fix" as Farage has somehow managed to dodge five evictions following the public vote. Last night's episode saw former EastEnders actor Danielle Harold, 31, receive the least votes from the public and was the fifth star to leave the jungle.

Farage has not faced a single eviction and many have surmised the reason could lie in the fact ITV forked out the record-breaking fee for him to appear. The average fee for a public figure is paid is usually somewhere between £30,000 and £600,000. Suspicious I'm A Celeb fans took to Twitter, now known as X, to share their thoughts.

One wrote: "If Nigel wins, it's a complete fix just so itv can make the most of the money they spent on him." Another speculated: "It's a fix they are keeping him in to get what they paid for. Wouldn't be surprised if a percent of others' votes get directed towards him so he's saved."

A third wrote: "I'm suspecting a fix at this point by @ITV. There's no way Nigel hasn't been in the bottom two yet, there's been rumours that ITV don't feel they've got their money's worth from him. He cost them over a million, they are keeping him in until the end! FIX!." And although some fans suspect foul-play, Nigel was hard at work before the show, rallying the troops by teaming up with his bosses at GB News to create a promo video, begging viewers to vote for him.
