EastEnders Christmas whodunnit victims sealed from Nish, Dean to Jack
EastEnders fans have been left on a cliffhanger after the hit BBC One soap posted the full-length Christmas trailer on Monday night and have since confirmed the potential victims in a line-up of seven.
The Six trailers were all released one by one and, now, the BBC soap has put them all together ahead of the big Christmas reveal, when one unlucky man is known to die in shocking scenes, with the Six women – Denise Fox, Kathy Beale, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Panesar – somehow involved.
A flashforward scene shown back in February confirmed one man, who is wearing amber cufflinks, dies this Christmas and the women are all seen standing around the body. But, now it has been teased there could be a second victim. At the start of the trailer, a jukebox appears. It has various letters and numbers pushed in, including the letters that spell the word D E A T H and also the number eight.
Whilst the number eight doesn't seem that significant at first glance, we know the BBC soap is always dropping clues – so could this be a hint to the identity of the murderer or even of the victim? It looks like the eight is pushed down – but could this confirm a double murder this Christmas? Six plus two equals eight and could the number be confirming how many people will be in the scene?
Viewers had already speculated there could be a double murder after eagle-eyed fans noticed Linda Carter, who has a bust lip, cleaning the floor in what looks like upstairs at the Queen Vic. Soap watchers are eager to know who the victim, or victims, could be and EastEnders has now teased who will potentially die in a line-up of seven. Here, we take a look at all the potential victims this Christmas...
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessKeanu Taylor
Only recently, Phil Mitchell rumbled Keanu and Karen Taylor's revenge plan after he spotted a series of clues in Albert Square due to the latter's stolen cash blunder.
Soap watchers will recall that Karen has been part of a dramatic storyline recently with on-screen son Keanu. Keanu and Karen teamed up to steal everything Sharon had, including her son Albie, after Sharon refused to put Keanu on his birth certificate. She also planned to move away from Walford with her son, leaving Keanu behind and with little access to his son.
Karen was furious and encouraged him to take revenge, leading to the fake kidnapping of his son Albie. Karen took him to a family member's house and Keanu wrote a ransom note, leading to Phil lending Sharon £50,000 to pay the supposed abductors. Karen has been left hiding the money at her flat while Keanu has now got engaged to Sharon again.
Earlier this week, Phil rumbled their kidnap plan and in upcoming scenes, just as Sharon excitedly announces that she and Keanu will hold their wedding reception at The Vic on Christmas Day, Phil bursts in to tell her that Karen and Keanu staged Albie’s kidnap for money.
Soap fans will recall that in the Christmas flashforward, Sharon is wearing a wedding dress and the dead body is discovered in the Queen Vic. Elsewhere, in recent wedding filming snaps, Keanu star Danny Walters could be seen hiding his hands. Could he have been wearing amber cufflinks therefore his character is the dead body this Christmas?
Phil Mitchell
With Phil being involved in Sharon and Keanu's business, could Keanu want to seek revenge on Walford's hardman for rumbling his plan. Or in another twist, could Sharon not believe Phil's claims and instead kill him out of what she thinks is revenge for trying to ruin her wedding?
Nish Panesar
Only recently, evil Nish went to desperate measures to stop his wife Suki from leaving Albert Square with lover Eve Unwin. Last week, Nish discovered wife Suki's secret relationship with Eve and their plan to start a new life away from Walford. In a heated exchange, Nish fumed at Eve for "seducing" Suki and taking her away from him, before Eve told him that Suki had wanted their relationship too and they had been planning to run away together that evening.
After seeing red, Nish hit Eve with a bottle and left her for dead on the floor of Walford East, before he urged his son Ravi to finish the job and kill her off for good. In Thursday's episode, Nish coerced Ravi into helping dispose of Eve's body, despite Ravi insisting he didn't want to be involved.
During the episode, after being manipulated, Ravi took Eve to the woods, where she had regained consciousness in the boot of the car. Eve was able to push Ravi away as she ran off into the woods intense chase scenes. In one nail-biting moment, Eve hid behind a tree with Ravi just inches away as she attempted to attack him with a tree branch.
However, Ravi was able to fight her off and as he was about to kill her, Eve managed to plead with him as they both agreed to come up with a plan. It was decided that Eve would disappear so Nish would believe Ravi had killed her and the latter threatened Eve if she were to come back or attempt to make contact with anyone, she would be dead – as well as her loved ones.
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy shows off grey hair and says 'it doesn't matter'During the tense woods scenes, Nish had Eve's phone as he sent a message to Suki, who was waiting at the station, impersonating Eve and saying she can’t go through with the plan to escape and she will never see her again. The text left heartbroken Suki with no choice but to head back home, where Nish started showing even more worrying and controlling behaviour. Will Suki seek deadly revenge if she learns the truth or will Eve be back for revenge?
Ravi Gulati
With Ravi helping Nish to dispose of Eve's body, even though he let her live and helped her run away, could Suki still seek revenge for keeping Eve's whereabouts a secret or could Nish kill him for going against his orders?
Jack Branning
Jack is linked to several of the Six women, he is in a relationship with Denise and fans have been speculating he could have an affair with Stacey after the two have got close due to her stalker Theo Hawthorne's recent Trial. Jack even received amber cufflinks, which originally belonged to Nish, during a poker game but he handed them over to Phil for his wedding day. Could Denise, who wears green in the flashforward, kill Jack out of jealousy because of Stacey?
Dean Wicks
Soap watchers and Linda were in for a surprise back in October when Dean made a chilling return to Albert Square after seven years. To Linda's horror, Dean plans to make Walford his home again and he was revealed as the Beales' new business partner.
Dean's decision to return was driven by his need to be close to the local hospital where his daughter Jade – who has cystic fibrosis – was receiving treatment and awaiting a life-saving lung transplant. Soap watchers will recall that Dean raped Linda in 2014 and was driven out of Walford after being disowned by his family in 2016.
Linda has struggled since Dean's return and he has been making her life hell as he has been still trying to convince people that he was innocent and had been vilified for no reason, even attempting to blackmail Linda. In the trailer, it sees Linda upstairs and sporting a bust lip while scrubbing the floor, could she have killed Dean?
Rocky Cotton
Rocky recently staged a fire at his wife Kathy Beale's cafe as he continued to struggle with debt problems due to his gambling addiction. As Rocky gets more desperate amid his debts and if more people discover his arson on the cafe, could Kathy or one of the other women kill him in revenge?
