A Volkswagen car has crashed into the front of a Boots store on the Edge Lane retail park in Liverpool, leaving broken glass and debris as onlookers watched on.

Photos show carnage with a broken metal bollard and the vehicle inside the store. The incident was described as "bedlam" by one witness and there are reportedly at least two fire engines, two ambulances and five police vehicles at the scene after the incident was first reported shortly before 2.30pm today, Wednesday, December 7.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that no injuries have been reported, despite the black Volkswagen Tiguan colliding with three other cars before ending up in the Boots store. Officials are continuing to look at CCTV and have asked witnesses to come forward.
