The One Show guests were in stitches as presenter Alex Jones believed Sex Education actor Asa Butterfield had a role in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

The 26-year-old actor was on the green sofa this evening, December 6, alongside actor Daniel Mays to promote the new festive rom-com Your Christmas or Mine 2. The new movie is a continuation of the first film, which was released last year.

Presenting the show with Alex Scott, Jones left her guests confused after asking him an interview question that was meant for his co-star Daniel Mays. Speaking directly to Asa, she said: "You’re in the new Chicken Run." Then Daniel burst out with laughter and said: "No, I’m in the new Chicken Run." Jokingly, Asa said: "I am?" before Daniel, impersonating Asa, added: "I missed that."

Alex's comment also amused her co-presenter, Alex Scott, who joked: "The shock on Asa's face!" The hilarious scene comes a day after Paddy McGuinness left Jermaine Jenas and Alex Jones struggling to keep it together after a brutal poke at Gregg Wallace. Earlier this year, Gregg had quit Inside The Factory over allegations of ‘derogatory banter’ towards a female staff member.

Take Me Out star Paddy has since been announced as his replacement. When he appeared on the show yesterday, December 5, things turned slightly awkward in the studio. Alex said it was a surprise to see him hosting Inside The Factory, saying: "Well this is just so unexpected." Paddy then took a moment before responding.

He said: "Very unexpected, yeah.... mainly for Gregg, if I'm being honest. Ermmm..." As it dawned on him what he'd just said, he started to laugh and sharply went on: "We started it, but it's not on until the end of 2024 I don't think. But I have already been at the Quavers." But the BBC found the savage swipe funny and the clip was uploaded to their Twitter account.

Things also took an awkward turn when Swedish actress Rebecca, who also appeared on the show, said she struggled to understand Paddy's Bolton accent. The TV presenter recently confirmed that he’d be taking his comedy show on tour, saying in a press release: "It’s been eight years since my last tour and there’s lots of things to laugh about! I’m looking forward to getting back in front of a live audience, along with running the gauntlet of cancel culture, clickbait and fake news."
