Former I'm A Celebrity campmate Jake Quickenden has revealed the hidden interactions campmates have with the crew while in the jungle.

Speaking to the Mirror, Jake, who was a runner-up in the 2014 series, opened up on this year's series. He said: "I get serious FOMO when I'm watching, I wish I could go back in. I was a bit like Sam Thompson, everything's just overwhelming and exciting. I wasn’t thinking about the hunger, the challenges and the bugs, I was just thinking, ‘I can't believe I'm in the jungle.’

"There was part of me when I was flying out there and when I was raiding the minibar just before I went in, I was thinking they'll surely give you some food when you're in there. And I remember when the first bag came down, I was like, 'I bet there's a Domino's pizza in here' and then it was just crocodile tail or something like that."

The former runner-up continued: "It's pretty daunting when you're in there and you realise, actually, this is going to be me for potentially three weeks. I remember when I saw one of the cameramen when I was walking to a trial and he had some Tic Tacs and I was like, ‘Can I please have a Tic Tac?’ And they won't even speak to you, they won't give you a Tic Tac and I was like, ‘Mate it’s one calorie, come on!’ But they wouldn’t do it – it is exactly how you watch it on TV."

Jake revealed that the crew will also communicate with you if the campmates are in any danger or if they're joined by any unwanted jungle critters. Earlier in this year's series, Fred Sirieix realised a tic had burrowed its way into his arm.

Explaining the protocol for situations like this, Jake added: "We had a snake in the camp and I remember thinking, 'I’ll get it, I’ll be the hero' and then it came through the speakers, 'Jake stay away from the snake' and the marshal had to deal with it. Fred would have been able to go see the doctor or someone like that and then it would have been removed safely. The last thing you want is Sam Thompson trying to pull a tic out of your arm."
