Ex-Strictly star Adam Thomas forced to pull out of job amid health woes
Former Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas was forced to pull out of a recording session of his podcast Mancs on the Mic, after being in too much pain with arthritis.
The 35 year old star, who appeared on the BBC dance show alongside his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk last month, shares the podcast with his two brothers Ryan and Scott Thomas. Speaking of Adam's absence Ryan, who has joined this year's line-up of Dancing On Ice, said: "I can see the pain he’s going through…it’s so so hard to watch."
Scott then added: "He’s not hungover, he’s actually struggling with his arthritis, he has good days and bad days and today is one of those bad days." During his time on Strictly, Adam admitted to the Mirror that, since January this year ,he had been struggling to deal with shooting pains in his knees, before travelling to his wrists, fingers, ankles and toes. After a series of tests, Adam was diagnosed with rheumatoid Arthritis.

He said: "I’ve not talked about this before but no-one really knows the pain I’ve been going through. I put on a brave face but it’s been difficult to keep that persona up. Emotionally and physically, it’s had a huge impact on my life this year."
Luckily for Adam, he has the unconditional love and support of his two brothers, his wife and children. Ryan added: "I always reach out to Adam and I can see it in his face and I can see the pain he’s going through. What happened during Strictly is he was on medication, adrenaline, and that’s what gets you through an experience like that. "

He continued: "But I think now coming off the back of it, he did say the other day, he was walking really funny and it’s so so hard to watch. He went ‘wow, the medication has worn off’, so he’s in a lot of discomfort and pain with this and I think he’s really suffering with it, and it’s not nice to watch." On the back of his rehearsals for the ITV skating show, Ryan joked that they have found a niche in the market for male skaters to maintain the size of their manhood – boxer shorts with a fake bulge.

"t’s like us buying a pair of boxers with a fake bulge." Ryan then replied: "Oh mate I would have that on in a second…I definitely would have a pair of them." He added: "For the listeners who haven’t listened to the episodes, I wore a sock for my master interviews on ‘Dancing on Ice’ [laughs], it’s a cold place!"
