NFL legend and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers says conspiracy theories claiming he did not tear his Achilles have surfaced because he's making the impossible become a reality.

The four-time league MVP is on course to recover from the freak injury, that he sustained four snaps into the Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills, returning in record speed, following speed bridge surgery.

The Jets have undeniably suffered without Rodgers, with Zach Wilson struggling to keep the offense afloat - as has Tim Boyle. Wilson has also reportedly shown reluctance to step back into the starting role in Rodgers' absence, with the team turning back to him just weeks after he was first dropped in 2023.

The team is out of playoff contention and Rodgers is unlikely to be risked with just five fixtures left in the regular season. Rodgers has decided to put conspiracies surrounding his torn Achilles to bed, though. "Well, I'm trying to do something no one's ever done before," Rodgers said to Pat McAfee when asked why people doubted his injury.

"So, when that happens, it can't possibly in the collection of the impossible ever be the reality. But I'm proud of people, you know?

"There was a time a few years ago where anybody who had any ideas outside of the mainstream narrative and the normal thought process were called the C-word (conspiracy). And I'm glad there's some other people joining the ranks, the people who are questioning things."

Rodgers hit out at reports trying to throw Wilson under the bus. The NFL legend rubbished the idea that Wilson gave the franchise the middle finger. "I love the kid," a passionate Rodgers declared. "I've spent a lot of time with him. I think he's an amazing young man... and he is young, he's early 20s. He's gone through a lot of s*** in the last three years, and he's got every right to be frustrated and disappointed about it."

Rodgers added: "I will say this, when you have sources, right, and that's always an interesting thing. First of all, you can go down a whole rabbit hole with actual sources, made-up sources, why is someone willing to be a source? What are they gaining out of that?

"On and on and on, but when you use sources, and whether intentional or unintentional, try to assassinate someone's character, like that report does for Zach, I have a real hard time with that. I mean, you're basically saying that this kid is quitting on the team and doesn't want to play and has given the middle finger to the organization."

The Jets have a tough next two fixtures, first welcoming the Houston Texans and CJ Stroud to the Metlife Stadium, followed by a trip to the Miami Dolphins.
